that reminds me of Glenn Fricker’s stories of bands coming into record and not knowing their parts, and the ongoing theme of bass players not knowing how to play their instrument.
Edit: yeah I should have clarified, if you can’t sing, don’t perform, saying don’t sing isn’t totally accurate, everyone didn’t know how to sing at some point.

He’s pretty good. I was referring to the part that wasn’t the screaming.
The weird thing with him is that he’s blind. I imagine that makes it a lot harder to write lyrics.

I was also referring to the non-screaming part, I was saying it’s not that bad, the rest of it I thought was good, I was just saying compared to the other stuff it wasn’t bad.

J is a good example of how sometimes people just need to stick to their range. There are plenty of occurrences where his singing is good for its purpose in the song when he sticks to a limited range. Other times, though, he does not stay within that range and it’s not good. An example that sticks out to me right now is from “Prison Song” for Zug Izland. When he butts in the one time and sings the “I can remembeerrrrrr!!” is awful. I remember back then playing that song and my mom overheard and was like “Jeeze, the singer in that song is terrible”.I really love that song. I can reimagine J’s bad singing in that as just a random inmate who decides to pipe in the performance with Syn, and it follows the theme at that point.
And Warlock, that Madrox guy has decent singing abilities. He could probably sing even better if Monoxide would let him (I jest).
Boondox’s singing was fine for the track in “Angel Like”.
And Syn, of course. Legs Diamond?
What song do you think of when you think of madrox singin?? i think of “wrong with me”
J’s definitely better than those drox & dox songs..
Legz is pretty on point, on his record.. most of his ICP stuff have altered vocals.. Syn’s good but he doesnt have the range J does.. and yeah clearly J was playin on that line…

Hands down Boondox out sings anybody that has ever been on the label. Madrox and J are pretty much the same at their best but J isn’t nearly as consistent.
If anybody needs lessons it’s Razakel. With what most of the others are going for they can pull it off. Raz trying to do the horrorpop thing with extremely mediocre singing at best she really needs lessons. I can tolerate shitty singing if it works well, but hers hasn’t been lately.

Boondox can outright sing, it doesn’t strike me as a rapper singing, it strikes me as a rapper who is also a singer, though I wouldn’t know if he can outright sing for a whole song. (also I completely forgot he existed when the best singer on psy was mentioned, even though I listen to him a lot lol)
Though technically the best singer on psy is none of these people, it’s Legz Diamond. But, you know, he doesn’t count.
I think J could be really good if he did some regular practicing, he sounded great on Falling Apart, and it’s part of what makes that song so good.
But as I said, that song on FFF where he sang with autotune made my soul cry. But yeah, if it’s something he wants to do he totally could with a heaping helping of practice, honestly it’d fit him very well.

I agree with the Boondox part, But Madrox is above and beyond J in every aspect by a large range. Better singer, more playful with lyrics and when he raps fast I get hyped up instead of cringing.
