We’ve had a few of these types of threads on here, but they are buried now and we have some new cats on here, so i’d like to have this for discussion, sharing experiences, and posting articles regarding the paranormal. Be it ufos/ghosts/black eyed children/ lady gaga etc etc….
Heres a month old article I came across, and after reading it, I’m gonna predict that this whole ufo thing is gonna bust open in the next ten years(based off of absolutely no evidence.

WASHINGTON — While President Obama was promoting animmigration overhaul in Mexico, six former members of Congress gathered two blocks from the White House to consider what they see as the enforced government secrecy surrounding another kind of visitor: the kind who come from a lot farther away.
Rich Pedroncelli/Associated Press
Mike Gravel, a former senator from Alaska, above in 2007, appeared this week on a panel to discuss extraterrestrial life.
“Something is monitoring the planet, and they are monitoring it very cautiously, because we are a very warlike planet,” said Mike Gravel, a former Democratic senator from Alaska who ran in both the Democratic and Libertarian presidential primaries in 2008.
Mr. Gravel and his fellow panelists were assembled by theParadigm Research Group, which says it is committed to ending the government’s “truth embargo” on the existence of extraterrestrial life. The lawmakers were there in hopes that their presence and political credibility would be enough to persuade Congress to take the issue seriously.
“I’ve been exploring how we might get this issue out of the shadows of the lunatic fringe,” said Roscoe G. Bartlett, a former Republican representative from Maryland. Before his defeat last year, Mr. Bartlett was known for sounding the alarm on the threat posed to the nation’s energy infrastructure by electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, the shock wave from a nuclear weapon detonated beyond the earth’s atmosphere.
Called the Citizen Hearing on Disclosure, the event might have been mistaken as advocacy for government transparency, and some of the panelists had impressive résumés.
“I’ve come to understand and appreciate the importance of open, transparent government and the power of truth,” said Paul T. Hellyer, who served as Canadian minister of defense during the 1960s.
“We are not alone in the cosmos,” he added.
One reason the ex-members of Congress agreed to sit on the dais and ask questions may have been curiosity.
“Our country has trivialized it, has made it a joke, has made it green people with horns sticking out,” said Carolyn Kilpatrick, a Democratic representative from Michigan who lost her seat in 2010. “Now I find that it’s much more than that. And it’s not a joke. And there is scientific data that there may be something there.”
Another reason might have been the $20,000 the organizers said they paid each panelist. But they are still maintaining a healthy skepticism.
“Just because the government might have had a document about how to handle extraterrestrials doesn’t mean there were any,” said Merrill Cook, a Republican from Utah who was twice elected to the House.
The panels this week have been low-hanging fruit for the news media while President Obama is out of town and Congress is out of session, and not all of the people who study U.F.O.’s think the meetings will help them improve their stature in Washington.
“There really is something to this issue, and there is a serious side to it, but that’s not what’s being presented as this event,” said Leslie Kean, a journalist and author of “U.F.O.’s: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record,” a collection of firsthand accounts by people who believe they saw them.
The conclusion that U.F.O.’s are proof of extraterrestrial life is misguided, she said, and the people who broadcast that belief hindered support for real scientific research.
Despite the ridicule that usually accompanies the discussion of U.F.O.’s, they have been quietly talked about in corridors of power here. Some panelists at the event this week counted among true believers John D. Podesta, a chief of staff in President Bill Clinton’s White House, because of his role in Executive Order 12958, which requires the declassification of most government documents over 25 years old.
But the possible existence of extraterrestrial life is not exactly why he believes in government transparency, Mr. Podesta said.
“At the end of the day, there are going to be people who say that even if you did that, there must be other files that exist that you’re not disclosing,” he said in an interview.
But objects in the sky have piqued his interest. In June 2011, the Center for American Progress hosted government officials, from the Pentagon, NASA and the Department of Transportation, as well as Congressional staff and former officials from intelligence organizations, for a briefing by Ms. Kean and experts from academia and foreign militaries.
The private briefing was organized to discuss a proposal that the government establish a small office of two staff members who would selectively investigate mysterious skyward sightings and seek to understand them by applying scientific method. The proposal did not refer to U.F.O.’s, but rather, U.A.P.’s, unidentified aerial phenomena, as if those who drew up the proposal were keenly aware of how their objective could be perceived.
“They were interesting, credible people who had observed aerial phenomena that were unexplained and worthy of additional follow-up,” Mr. Podesta said. “Going back and looking at and declassifying whatever government documents exist is a smart thing to do.”

i thought aliens came from mexico?
*does the racism dance*
but seriously. i think that if he do end up getting a ‘mass first contact’ i do not believe it will be an pleasant experience. i think any alien life form ‘visiting’ earth will be looking to colonise us, it will be indians and pilgrims all over again. except they will have lazors.
i imagine something like falling skies, parasitic species taking over our world then moving on.
as far as teh supernatural goes with ghosts/boogiemen etc, that shit is folklore. people making shit up to explain the unexplainable.
like ‘god’ was created by people to explain natural disasters.

I’ve experienced the unexplainable, and I’m a skeptic.

For those who don’t give a flying fuck about me correcting novo’s sweeping assessment that God is simply for the sale of explaining natural disasters and other religious non-sense, skip the first paragraph
Secularly, Zoroastrianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam’s (in order of existence, as they’re mostly rehashing of each other) respective God’s have nothing to do with serving to explain natural disasters. They’re to explain the duality of man and give hope of life after death that’s actually pleasant for the well behaved of any class, not just the wealthy (as in most polytheistic religions). This thread isn’t about that though I just couldn’t resist correcting that, being a non-denominational Christian (and I use “Christian quite loosely, hence non-denominational).
Any fucking who, I’ve had two paranormal experiences in my life that deeply shook me. The first, while riding my bike with a friend of mine in our cul-de-sac a very VERY low flying (low enough it shook the trees and riffled my hair), large, triangular aircraft with large spotlights on each point flew quickly past us making a loud whirring noise. It was going much faster than the speed of sound and was HUGE and not at all shaped like a helicopter of any make model or age. My friend still tries to say it was a stealth bomber being test flown by the air force (stealth bombers were new six years ago right?) but stealth bombers are arrow shaped. Not perfect triangles. I sat by my front door cradling my dad’s Remington 870 until he got home from work at 3 a.m., this happened at roughly 8p.m. I still refuse to believe what I saw was of this earth to this day.
The second was more of a supernatural type deal. Every night for 3 weeks straight while sitting in my room I could swear that on the edge of my peripheral vision there was a nude (save for the groin before the cho-mo jokes come in), pale white-blue man with blank white angry eyes and swept back white hair with defined physical features glaring at me with the greatest sense of hatred I could feel upon me. Every time I went to look, he wasn’t there. It terrified me to tears, he/it wouldn’t go away. I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t think of anything but him. I began patrolling my house at night with one of my dad’s handguns and a marble statue of st. Michael looking for him. It all culminated with me hearing a very deep evil laughter, which scared me to tears and then hearing my name whispered. I whipped around screaming and very nearly shot my uncle who was visiting at the time in the face. He whispered my name because it was late and he wondered what I was doing. Wrong place wrong time for him I guess. I never saw/thought I saw pr heard from the blue man again. *deep breath* and I’m done. Those are my two experiences. My family and friends both remember these things quite well if you don’t believe me.

Your assuming that the alien life would be war minded like we are. They possibly could be far more enlightened than we are and moved past that stage of evolution. Maybe they are just waiting for us to be ready before they make open contact(if they haven’t already).
As far as ghosts go, I have never saw a ghost, but i’ve had experiences with them and definitely believe in residual energy.
I was staying at my gmas house when I was younger and got up in the middle of the night to get water from the kitchen. While I was standing there by the sink something whispered “matthew” in my left ear. Call me crazy all you want but I KNOW it didn’t come from inside of my head. It was audible.
Another time was on christmas night 2008. My buddy and I were playing the first star wars force unleashed when the console shut off. At which point we look over and the mother fucker was unplugged from the surge protector. NO WAY it could have fell out by itself(you can tell me diff but I know better).
After that incident I started listening to white noise on a radio in my trailor at night. I never got any results but after a few times of it I woke up in the morning and the radio was on the floor….broken.
I also had an old tv in that trailor that would turn on and off at will but that could be explained by surges.
There are a few more I will add in if anyone else wants to share too…
Anyways I’m almost convinced that something follows me around. Whether it be a ghost, spirit guide, or a “demon” I have no idea. Of course I could just be shit house rat crazy.
I understand why people don’t believe though. We need patterns and certainty in our lives and the thought of the un explainable turns some people off. I just don’t like when people get ridiculed because they are religious or believe in these things that science can’t explain

Just so you know, i dont actually believe the god was created to explain natural disasters, i was merely making a point. i am a good god fearing man. just not religious.
your first experience sounds exactly like a stealth jet/bomber.
the second sounds like your mind playing tricks, i have had those exact things happen to me previously. it plays on what you have seen/read about recently. it is a haedfuck but nowhere near supernatuural imo.. sorry n shit.
I woudl also liek to state tha t stalking a ghost with gun and a statue of a saint is kinda stupid. everyone knows that youd have better luck with a lighter and pure salt…. dont you people watch supernatural? you have to salt and burn the bones!
I saw Velociraptors out of the corner of my eyes in the dark for months after watching jurassic park at the movies when i was a kid. doesnt mean there are dinsoaurs stalking around (unless you count crocs and gators).

I wasnt thinking rational. And i’d say that the blue man was more a demon than a ghost. And i was like 12 lol…gun = protection and maybe a religious object would protect me…there arent standard ROEs for fighting demons lol. And i was correcting the statement, not necessarily you :) sorry for the misunderstanding. God this thread has me giddy. And explain those two experiences however you want to try, but you didnt live them. I considered myself an athiest when blue man showed up, i wasnt playing tricks on my mind from too much religious zeal akin your dinosaur experience.

I had this really strange fucked up dream where I was living in an apartment or something with a bunch of people I know. I went out for a walk at night, remember saying something to a friend of mine named Mole, who for some reason I guess lived in this apartment, before leaving. I was walking for a bit when I looked up into the sky and noticed that the moon was really close to the sky and really red, so I sort of jogged back and told my older brother about it. He came out side and the moon was normal and I told him that I swore it was huge and red, then I looked over and noticed the big red sphere in the sky that I thought was the moon. That was kind of freaky. I heard like a scream or something after and I looked behind me there was this girl standing on top of a church who was threatening to jump off. My brother ran in to get her down and right after he entered the building she jumped and hit the ground. I starting walking back and forth sort of freaking out about it and was about to say “how could god let this happen” but before it came out of my mouth I instead said “go figure”. Really freaky ass dream.

demons = holy water and salt… jesus, learn your folklore mang.
i have lived very similar experiences and they can be summed up in a completely logical manner.

my favourite freaky dreams tend to involved suicide and the apocolypse.
