Sam Adams is the craft beer of yesteryear. Bow down to the kings.

Here's a pretty good article on some great American craft beers: http://www.usatoday.com/story/.....a/2637493/

@guest, I haven't heard of those, except for Left Hand Brewery, they make an amazing IPA. I will check out those listed above, thank you sir.I highly disagree with your Sam Adams comment though, Sam Adams is the shit.

Word, I really can't recommend New Belgium enough. They have a pretty good distribution, I'm pretty sure you can find them all over now. And for sure, if you lean to hoppy beers Left Hand is doing great things. I'll grab a Sam Adams six and give it a go here in a day or two. It has been years and years since I've had one, and back then I knew shit about beer.

i'm sure America makes better beer then Australia.  But I havnt drank in 6 months so I don't really care.

clearly youve never drunk anything other then the water flavoured piss you call beer. we sell budweiser in pubs here for like 2 bucks a bottle because no one but the hipsters will drink it. ill grant we arent anywhere near as good as alot of european (belgian/german/etc) beers, but america sucks dick at making good beer.

My new car is awesome by the way. awesomely awesome is awesome.

congrats on the new car.  But I'd rather drink piss then drink anything from Australia Thank you very much.

Fat Tire is my shit.  At the grocery store I work at they sell it, and usually a few random other New Belgium beers, but I like amber beers and porters/stouts more than IPAs.

Fat Tire and Sunshine Wheat are my front runners. Fat Tire has made me a fat ninja, I do have to cut back pretty soon. IPAs are just to bitter for me to drink casually, and they are becoming pervasive around here. But yeah, I'll stick to ambers.

Guinness is my all time favorite beer. Some Guinness and some Makers Mark borboun and you got yourself a good night right there homies. Throw in a fine cigar and there you go. Guest, et me know how you like the Sam Adams, I think it's great. I'm just interested to see what you think man.

I will. I know they have several "shades" of Sam Adams. Which one would you say has the smallest hops profile? I hate to use the term "lightest" but in this case that might be what I'm going for, IPAs obviously excluded.

Man Pat we could definitely get hammered together.  My girl stopped buying me bottles of Maker's Mark to have in the house because I literally drink it like water and that shits expensive (well to me the broke college student).  I love me some irish car bombs but thats with Jameson, which is also the shit.

haha spoken like a true 18 year old drinker...I used to pound 211s behind a shopping center by me and a bunch of my boy's neighborhood.  The one 21 year old would go buy like a dozen steel reserves or colt 45s and we would put them bitches back like water.  As you get older your taste for good beer will mature, but if it doesn't at least it makes you a cheaper date.

Rasputin is the shit, really heavy but really strong.  They sell it at Trader Joe's too so I can easily get it.  Its an Imperial Stout if I remember.  I am a sucker for stouts, but porters are really good too.  I guess I'm just a sucker for roasted barley, it adds a lot more depth and character to the beer in my opinion.
