The subject of the average education of a juggalo has been discussed in other forums, so let’s make it official. Of course we all know that degrees and such don’t truly determine our intelligence or ambition, per se, this is merely a curiosity thing.

So I’ll start. I have a (pretty much useless) AS degree in Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies. My wife is a juggalo, and has two separate AS degrees and a BA in fine arts. An important note is that I never graduated highschool and obtained my GED instead.

Whatcha got? Masters degree? High school education? Trade certificate? Military?

No shame there. I myself started in 2001 and had to quit the second semester when my dad decidedhe ddidn’t like paying for it anymore. Then I got married, went to jail, moved to NC for a few years, moved back to NY and finished my degree at the same college in May 2012. Same with wife.

College is very much just a money hustle these days. I knew that ultimately the degree wasn’t worth much, it was more of a closure deal. I do however have a pt job there at the college for four years. The two job hustle lol

Agreed with @old-mr-dangerous. It got my foot in the door of a career, but I’m not using shit college for what I currently do.  I have a BBA in Information Systems.

I have an AS in Business Administration from Northern Virginia Community College and will have my Bachelor’s of Science in Management with a minor in Marketing from George Mason University in the Spring.  I don’t agree that its a money hustle at least in my case.  Ive been going to school since I was 20, paying for it with cash I saved working and federal PEL grants.  Ive always worked full time and gone to school 1/2 or 3/4 time, and the combo of work experience/ the bachelor’s degree will allow me to vastly increase my earning potential.

For instance at Trader Joe’s (where I work) having the 8 years experience that I have, I still could only make 39k a year (about a grand more then I make now) but with my degree in Management I have a standing offer for 54k.  It has taken me personally about 25k to get out of school since I started (the PEL grants helped alot when I was younger), but making an extra 13k a year starting out will take care of that in a timely manner.  Plus Obama’s been giving me extra taxes back for the last three years for being a student.  To me the biggest cost of school has been time.  Working 35 hours a week isn’t bad, but going to school the other two days of the week sucks, with my getting sleep being the most abused victim of the process.

It has its sacrifices but I wouldn’t change it for anything.  I am really glad in hindsight my Mom stayed on me about keeping two classes a semester going even when I was on drugs pretty heavily (although ironically pushing paid for a year and a half of my business degree lol.)  I know now she was just trying to keep my from totally derailing like some of my homies have done, most of whom now are my brother (the only member of OCJ with a masters degree) and my staunchest supporters in terms of doing what now felonies, children, and addiction are keeping them from doing.

At the last Twiztid show this kid kept hitting my/ two of my boys girls in the front of the pit, so my boy and I threw him (literally) off the floor and since my friend worked there as a bouncer part time the guy working that night saw and kicked the guy out.  This drunk asshole waited for me until after the show and ran up and me from behind as I walked out the door, but my boy Devon stepped in between us before I could spin around, picked the dude up (literally) and told him I needed to go to class the next day and had no time for assault charges so it would be him that ate his face if he wanted it.  The point got well across but im sure the guy was confused as fuck as to why me going to college meant he had to fight a 350 pound big black guy instead of the much more even fight he was picking with me.

Similar choice I made, while on unemployment and only working two days a week, with occasional under the table labor, I was going to college ft but spending most of my free hours drinking and eating/snorting this chicks free adderall. I wasn’t addicted, the drugs n drinking never had any harsh consequences (lucky me), but I managed to keep good grades (Dean’s and President’s List on occasion) through it all. You just gotta stay as focused as possible I suppose.

Yea now im the lead trainer at my store, and a ton of kids come thru with the same plan as me thinking they will breeze through working 40 a week and going to school full time, only to find out that pace will destroy their personal life usually so when they ultimately drop school (as it has no direct gratification like a paycheck) the advice I give them is the same my Mom hammered into my head.  “Objects in motion tend to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force, Dont let the outside force by your own ego.  By all means slow down if you need to, but don’t ever stop till your finished or it gets waaaay harder to go back.”

I think Issac Newton was onto something with those gravity laws…I shot my girl with an Nerf gun when she came out of the shower yesterday morning, and this morning she shot me with one when I came out the shower.  For every action there IS an equal reaction.

For me my ex’s adderal script and drinking led both of us to extacy and cocaine , which was way harder to get off of once I was on it.  I didn’t hit rock bottom either because we were selling enough to do things for free.  That relationship took a mutually emotionally abusive turn though and I managed to find my angel in the form of my current (for the last almost 5 years) Gloria.  Shes keeps me active enough in my minuscule free time that I dont really do shit anymore but smoke trees.

Even when I go to the bar now im just not much of a drinker anymore…I guess im over it.
