There's no link between poverty and white privilege. 9.2 million people live in poverty. How many people live in two income homes, single income homes, are disabled, drug addicts, choose to live in poverty or refuse to work? How many out of 11.1 million? How many out of 17.3 million? There's so many variables that cause people to be in poverty that blaming it on white privilege is fallacious.

Legacy students don't mean shit. They're relatives to former students... Hey in a couple generations maybe the legacy students will be predominantly Asian.

True, but considering the grand effect that things like segregation and slavery had on generations of minorities being in poverty it kind of seems like common sense. Especially when there are police departments that have been blatantly proven to target minorities.

Probably not since the Asian population in college is still much much much lower than the white one, and it does mean shit, it's a perfect example of white privilege, hell, you can't even come up with an explanation on why it doesn't mean shit.

The real question is; Why does it bother you so much to acknowledge the advantages white people have in a country created, ran by and mostly populated by white people?

A private institution and legacy students has nothing if little to do with white privilege. You know the difference between private and non private institutes? A private institution like Harvard isn't going to to get money from the state legislatures. So higher tuitions and private contributions are going to be sought after. To help ensure finances for it's business, a PRIVATE institution is going to accept LEGACY students because they have a connection to that institution via family who are alumni and are capable of supplying a donation which helps the private institution financially. If that's what you consider white privilege your beliefs are fucking askew. 

A public university is going to get funded from state legislatures and not have to worry about donations because they have that additional financial support for not being a private institution. Can a public institution have legacy students? Yes. Can a private institution have legacy students? Yes. Does it make either racist? No.

Yes, I know what a legacy student is and yeah it has everything to do with white privilege, maybe go back and read what I said to understand.

Did I say it makes these institutions racist? No. I said that it gives white people opportunists that most minorities don't have (you know, kind of like a privilege) because of our racist history keeping most minorities from becoming alumni.

Argumentum ad whatever. Your "facts" aren't facts that supply any substantial evidence for the existence of white privilege. Whether in schools, jobs, poverty or with police arrests when there's variables that prove against the concept of white privilege being involved. Oh, but there's white people born into wealth... Native Americans and Blacks also owned slaves? Well shit... Guess the racist history isn't really one-sided. Still my ancestors have no connection to slavery, segregation or genocide in America. So our history... Americas history... Your history isn't the same as mine or somebody elses.  

I know white people weren't the only ones to own slaves, but, as common sense should show you, they were the one ones with the power in this country, they are the ones that implemented bigotry and a white supremacy in this country. To deny that this country was built on ideas of white supremacy is not objective, it is complete and undeniable fact that we were built on white supremacy. Especially when the man who freed the slaves in America, who were majority black owned by whites, openly spoke on whites being superior. To deny that it had any long term effect on not only our government structure but on preventing minorities from being born in higher classes, not all because I never said all, but most, that is just dumb and naive or willful ignorance. Especially since slavery, which yes, did mostly put whites over every other race despite other races participating, is not the only racist contribution. There are people alive still that lived through segregation.

Okay, so, time to address white privilege, everyone here is trying to say it either does, or does not exist. The problem with that is that you can't generalize the entire country, if ya get me. I personally have had experience being harassed for being a Jap, buuuuuuuuuut, if I were in a more leftist area of the country, that shit would not happen. Trying to generalize the experiences of everyone in the 1st world as being the same is as ludicrous as saying that everyone here has the same ideology. And I know I'm gonna get the "oh its not about individual cases of harassment or discrimination its about the systemic issue that holds people of color down" and if you were about to say something even somewhat like, you had better be using REALLY specific examples from like, the deep south, its a very real thing in those more rural piece of shit areas, but in general, it can actually be the complete opposite, have you ever tried to call a black man racist for saying shit like "all white people are racist" you know what happens when you call them out on that shit YOU GET FUCKING LAUGHED AT, for soooo many people they can't even consider a minority to be anything but the victim. I'm a minority too I'm an asian (though have white) trans chick, and I have personally dealt with both ends of the spectrum, both being herald as some hero despite not doing jack shit, and being discriminated against just for existing. And both are bullshit. In general I'd say that, at least when I was out of conservative land, in my experience, ESPECIALLY IN THE ACADEMIC WORLD, minorities are generally treated equal if not better than the majority, except for trans people (cries internally) a lot of people still hate us, though as I said, I imagine I'd be treated a lot better if I wasn't in such a conservative area, but in terms of racial minorities it holds true.
