I do not own a gun….yet. Here are some things I would like to say about this topic.

The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. This means no laws can be passed to infringe on that right. If you wish to change that than you must change the amendment. 

Cassius Marcellus Clay owned a cannon to protect his home. He was decimating mobs attacking his home and would win in court for self defense. A cannon was a big scary weapon of his time and no one could stop him from owning it thanks to the second amendment. Read about him…it is interesting.

Good people deserve the best means to protect themselves. However, I do feel that perhaps a change should be made to the amendment banning weapons that can kill multiple targets not in sequence but rather instantaneously i.e. bombs or chemical/biological weapons. Killing offensive men should be able to be done quickly and with as much success as possible for a defender but the defendant may be held accountable for innocent lives lost if defense is done carelessly. In the advent of innocent lives lost during an altercation a court of law and jury of peers will seek proper restitution for such lives lost. In other words, The weapon being used must be able to kill a group one person at a time no matter how quick rather than killing the group in a single strike. I’m sure smarter people can put that into better terms but the idea is the same.

As for random mass shootings like the batman incident…allow the people to carry weapons and the outcomes will have a hero that does not wear all black, a helmet and boots that show up too late. Either way the courts deal with the repercussions. I prefer self reliance over reliance of the state that time and time again proves to be in favor of no one but itself. The tax burden is becoming heavy just so we can arm the police who in turn favor the state over it’s citizens. The supreme court ruled that the police have a duty to protect the public and not individuals. We all know how well they do their job….
