Your friend told you lies. Take a stroll through the Twilight Scroll and decide for yourself if your friend has accomplished all of those things. That would be a VERY tall order.
As for finding Morton, it’s the journey not the destination. Your friend has a lot to learn about Morton… and himself.
Not my friend, like I mentioned. Just some routine internet braggadocio. The absurdity is part of why I mentioned it.

dangerous: please do that sometime. the rules and shit are not well understood by myself, but i find the stories are often entertaining.
i met this cool chick at the gathering this year [name of tox, as a plug for her] who is, to me anyway, the greatest mortons list player of all time. she seems to have the game memorized or something. she has all of shadow lords autographs in the rulebook thing. she has but one quest to complete before the euphremistam intersects with the megamortimizer, or whatever. jumpsteady talked to her about the game for like twenty minutes, he seemed genuinely impressed. he also seemed like he remembered meeting her before, and had already heard most of the story.
just how many people here are listers, anyway?
awfully paranoid, arent you?

I played it a few times, still have it actually. My problem was finding people to play as well, or ones that would didn’t want to get all into it like you should. Can still tell without getting to play it much that this is a bad ass game that never got enough credit, even from juggalos. Nobody I talked to about it at concerts really ever gave a fuck about it.

I love the game, It gives me inspiration to write songs from doing missions, But its no fun playin by yourself, I played it all the time with my homie joey, he was the tablemaster of the group we played every weekend or whenever I went to his house for studio, We got into some shit while playin that game, We got kicked out of walmart, got the cops called on us but as soon as we saw the cops we got ghost. I still have my book but the spine is all tore up. Id like to find a new book and the bag for the boulder.

I forgot tonight is statistically America’s “biggest party night of the year”.. just got off work and hit the sobriety checkpoint. Cop asked if I’d had anything to drink. I said “I wish”. And I got a little sad.
Now that that’s out of the way, I’ll share the briefest version of a ML story. Its been over 10 years since I’ve messed with the thing.
There is a big book, Scruff, a kind of tome guide, where you enter into different categories of life experiences based on the order you. And your group roll the 30-sided die (big blue dice, its dope). I’ve used it for party raffles and my own drinking games I invented. The categories can be anything as (seemingly) mundane as each member finding a new hobby, or something that invites chaos like robbing a store. Its not exactly a game, its real life.
There are Mutations and Deviations, in which your group will have something random added or taken away or completely altering the point of the quest. The quest may originally be “volunteer at the homeless shelter”. With a Deviation it may become “volunteer at the homeless shelter dressed as Klan grand wizards” (this is a totally random example; just giving an idea”.
Whoa I’m not being brief as I said earlier… okay, real quick. The quest was to “earn money”. Any way, we had to. We tried to cash my brother’s gfs check after hours at several supermarkets. It wasn’t happening. Eventually we gathered up many cans and served our money that way. Redeemables. Quest complete.
Oh, the Mutation was that each member had to be holding something the entire quest, no excuses. I can only remember what my brother chose: my 3.5 ft sword. Every store we went into, we kept getting kicked out. Surprised we weren’t arrested.
We once did endurance tests. Turns out my bros girl had an invincible mouth; we stuffed it full of ice cubes after she lasted the longest without spitting them out. She never flinched.
We eventually had a quest involving Ouija boards. We met a spirit named Ruth, who had died on the same grounds we held it at. From a specific cancer and specific dates were given. And I don’t even believe in that shit. But it happened.
The funniest quest (I have no idea which one), but it ended with us calling a Christian TV station and asking them about their homoerotic sitcoms. The lady on the other end loved it lol. We made her day. And that’s kind of what the point was in ML. Things happen.
Those are just a few short ones. It succeeds in testing the limits of individuals’ comfort zones, I recall. None of us wanted to “wrestle” with the others woman, at least not in front of their man. But you make oaths to test your confortability and even morals to their breaking point.
I could go on but that’s it for now. Brief, my ass lol. The time itself is worth reading like a book, just as it is. Jumpsteady and his squadron of nerds and hustlers are geniuses for making that thing. Perhaps I’ll play it with my daughters one day. One is due in a couple days lol.

Ive always wanted to play, but didn’t want to be the teacher and the only place I meet juggalos more knowledgeable then myself and my OG is at the gathering and on here. At the gathering im usually too trashed, but have heard some great stories.

ML at GOTJ is life changing. That’s not hyperbole. Put aside a night and try it sometime, the quests usually start up at midnight. LIFE CHANGING.
