I’m not a survivalist or anything, but I do have a “bug-out bag” packed in case I ever have to jam out of my house without warning. There’s not a lot in it, just a flashlight, a lighter, two meteorites and an unopened Morton’s List game. The important stuff.
i got one packed, too. nothing fun in it, though. just as much useful shit as i can carry indefinitely.
pretty fresh, though. also noteworthy that you have two meteorites. thats worth an extra syle point.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Sounds interesting. I’d be all about getting into it some time. Obviously not a board game that you could finish in a night? A game that has you doing things out in public and doing random shit?
Definitely mostly ends up out of the house. Some quests are simple as reading a new book though. But then, you all may have to leave the house and journey to the library to get a new one. Then the library is closed. So you think to go buy one at Barnes & Noble, but your car breaks down on the highway. So a cop pulls over “to help” and ends up running your license. Turns out you have a warrant for the public destruction from your last ML quest that had you and your group graffiti-ing the bridge downtown. So the pig takes you in, separating you from your group temporarily. Their new “mini quest” is to get the bail to bust you out of jail. While in the cell, you meet a stranger who you become friendly with. Before you’re bailed out he says, “here, take this”. And he hands you a copy of Malcolm X’s autobiography. You have completed your portion of your quest.
To balance the karma of having a few loyal quester friends who bail you out, you repay them by buying them all a brand new book.
Oh, the quest is just beginning, actually; you must now all complete the books.
Sthis story may or may not be based on a real ML quest.

old-mr-dangerous , Sounds like you are one of our resident experts on Morton. Are you sure you can’t make it to the gathering?
he could be the official flh dungeon master, or whatthefuckever.

i met this cool chick at the gathering this year [name of tox, as a plug for her] who is, to me anyway, the greatest mortons list player of all time. [etcetera etcetera]
incidentally, tox and her people [chief slapaho, dusty, and chris] apparently were the winners of this weekends scavenger hunt.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

Table Master. But that changes with the die roll. When we play at the gathering, even someone who has never played before can become the Table Master. It’s one of the things that makes the game so interesting.
I think it’s a forgone conclusion that I will be playing. I want the team to win the medallions and signed books but it will require that our interpretation of the quest and the way we carry it out be the most creative and inventive one out of them all. I’m sure we will be playing against Tox and her people (Slapaho, Dusty, and Chris) and maybe even other well known players like those from the Horde, The Crimson M’s, Apocryphon Gnosis Triantakohedron, The Archangels of Chaos, etc… (Tox and hers may even be one of those, never met these people personally).
Anyone who is going to want to play (even if you are unsure due to not knowing the schedule yet) let me know. I have some additional info for those interested who have never played. With team sizes of up to 6, we may need to split into multiple teams.
…
Ok. Since this is a “Find Morton” thread. Maybe something Jumpsteady said in an interview will help out. “Find Morton” is a rare quest with only a 1 in 810,000 chance of being rolled. (Roll 30: List of Life + Roll 30: The Cryptic List + Roll 30: The Twilight Scroll + Roll 30: Find MORTON)
http://www.angelfire.com/weird…..view2.html
Question: How do you ‘Find Morton’ on Morton’s List?
Jumpsteady: That would be the mission of all missions and would bring you to the deepest understanding of the game and even life itself, my friend.
