By J’s definition of the Wicket Shit, Lil’ Yachty is one of the Wicket Shit masters. I don’t find that to be a bad thing, but it’s not Wicket Shit. 21 might be Wicket Shit, reminds me of Esham Dead Flowerz reincarnated, but not Yachty. Yachty says he’s just there, watch his hot 97 interview, his definition of his style of music is quite similar to J’s definition of the Wicket Shit.
To me, the Wicket Shit is defined within itself. It’s that simple, just straight Wicket Shit, there’s no deeper meaning.

I used to argue that the wicked shit is anything that is deliberately anti religion. Esham wss often on some wicked shit. Kgp and bedlam. Some ICP
Horrorcore to me was always the story telling shit. House of Krazees, ICP did this a lot.
Acid rap is Esham and NATAS only.
But now I don’t care. It’s all the same shit and yes ICP are the Brittany Spears of horrorcore. Always have been. Like lucem said, they are horrorpop to the fullest. Milenko wasn’t created to sound like korn but they definitely took the grungy rock sound from what was popular at the time. That’s why you won’t ever get another album that sounds like that. That shit is dated as fuck.

I wrote this shit like three years ago in a different thread and it still stands :
Its about the content and not the beats for me. Not only rapping about stabbing people with precision but also about mental instability and the inner struggle that goes in inside our minds
It’s about the dark seedy part of the psyche that exists in all of us. Its talking about death and what might come after, whether it be a hell a purgatory or nothing at all.
its talking about ghosts and demons.
Its talking about substance addiction and failed relationships
All of these things we fear.
This ,to me, is accurate and I believe ICP are still doing some of these things very well.

In my mind the wicket shit is how Esham puts it in on the Vault DVD …. It’s Detroit’s modern day blues…. It’s not all depressing though like that cuz when you think back to the blues back in the day you had songs talking about “Oh my baby left me for the mailman and took the dog!” and then bust out the harmonica and assorted instruments and people would start juckin and jivin to some music about something depressing and turn it into music you be grinding up on some chick back in the day too and to the nasty(i would assume lol).
It’s also the origin of hip hop in Detroit …. It’s the trademark stamp of his Detroit Hip hop became as we know it. ICP with the theatrics and shock value KID ROCK with the rock rap influence(deriving from acid rap) EMINEM for SURE wouldn’t have been the same rapper back in 1998-2001 if not for the wicket shit (first two LPs are obvious) but he probably still would have been a rapper without acid rap but he wouldn’t be the same artist and I doubt he would have broke out the way he did it that element of Detroit acid rap shock value wasn’t introduced to the masses.
In my eyes groups like ICP, TWIZTID, etc are all Acid Rap; however, it seems to be an unwritten rule in the world of the wicket underground that only the Godfather ESHAM and the legendary NATAS are to be addressed as acid rap, but all in all….it’s the wicket shit no matter which way you slice it…
Bizarre of D-12 for example doesn’t claim acid rap but we all know it is. Now let me flip the script and state the opposite. “Horrorcore”is a subgenre of acid rap but is most definitely NOT acid rap. King Gordy for my last example: wicket shit?? ..YES! horrorcore??.. ABSOLUTELY! Acid Rap?? .. NO!! ?
why is this? Because like I said before: “horrorcore” is a subgenre of the “wicket shit” and “Acid Rap” is the origin of the wicket shit. Break it down into a pyramid: ACID RAP the the crown jewel that sits on the first level…and that level is the wicket shit. The next levels that divide down are all subgenres of the wicket shit….and then you have subgenres of horrorcore such as Gore Rap which artists like Scum and Dark Half do (R.I.P. to one half of the darkness).
Hope y’all enjoyed! ???

Lol it always comes down to the wife and dog line.
My dude Sturgil Simpson jokes about it in one of his songs.
Something along the lines of the womans gone but still got the truck and the dog.
Ive yet to hear one song that talks about the ex wife taking the truck and the dog…
