guys I have a confession to make, I read......

Japanese visual novels

DUn duN dUDNJDUNDUDNDUDNN

no but seriously, I like that stuff a lot, I'm an anime fan, not a frantic one, but I really do like it, I was raised on a lot of it. And because of that the only thing I've read in a while was the visual novel form of Higurashi when they cry

so yeah,

the novel form is good, it has a lot more suspense than the show and that is saying a lot. So, here's a still from the show just to give you a feel for it.

My second book of 2019 that I completed.... I read every word of this book.

Then, it turns out that the author stole the story from someone else.

What a fucking letdown. Because it was such a great story. Made me appreciative of my life even more.

Then it turns out it is a lie.

However, researchers have found that there was someone that most of it all actually happened to. The man that actually went through it was afraid to write about it at all, due to one of his travel-mates being a murderer. That, in itself, is a story on it's own.

Ultimately, then, the story is worth a read.

DO NOT READ THE HOBBIT, It's just fucking walking.

All of the Harry Potter books are good, A Clockwork Orange is overrated but fun, The Family (Mario Puzo) is enlightening and entertaining, I'm reading 1984 right now and I'm understanding why it's so often brought up and I wish I could remember the name of the book I actually want to recommend.

Books are fun, dive in.

Edit: If you haven't read Behind the paint, fucking read behind the paint!

Hey I changed the title of this topic instead of making a new topic.

What books are you reading?

I'm curious what you all are interested in.

I'm currently reading The Big Picture, by Astrophysicist Sean Carroll

Pigg have you gotten into the audiobook yet?

Do audiobooks count?

Yall know I'm way late to the juggalo game. Listening to the book is giving me so many questions. I'll have to do some digging through  the forum archives for sure. Maybe start a new thread or two.

Yeah bitches, im that short gentleman mentioned in that youtube video.

And the very nice, level headed guy from that other youtube video.

I can't stand audio books

in my opinion they are for lazy ass people

what you read registers more than what you hear

i'm not a huge reader but if it's something that interests me I will read it over listening to it

audio books are for truckers or people who drive a lot no reason you can't turn a page if you ain't driving

Dont forget blind people, you soiled set of drawers.

I had a friend who read while she drove sometimes. Yes, you read that right

 Read books WHILE she drove.

She is, miraculously, still alive. Nice big ass on her, too.

Wait, what were we talking about..?

When I was a delivery driver I would listen to podcasts and audio books.

Not baiting, genuinely curious.

Also Libraries are socialist programs that most people love.

In Omaha there is a technology library called do space where people can use expensive programs for free and other technology like 3d printers for very cheap. I believe it is a nonprofit funded by Warren Buffett. So a product of capitalism that I also love.

People run businesses out of dospace. It's awesome.

I picked this up when I was at the guggenheim last year for the show centered around this piece. I'm dyslexic so I'm a really slow reader and it's very academic so it's been a sludge but it's fascinating.

The library here in Yeongdeok is right across the street from my house.

I can't really read much more than children's books though.

I’ve been baby mobbin around the bay since my lil bro passed away. So I don’t get much down time. But I’ve been rereading The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of knowledge. I’ve also been writing too tho. Evil catharsis shit to get out of me. And shit like umm...

like I hate those t shirts with writing on them. Like back in the early 2000s. Like “ This is my tittie licking shit”.

I would never make a shirt like that. Or with a “statement”. Even if I know I’ll buy it. But I’ve been writing ones down that I approve. Like that I think are fire. Just think of it like I’ve been writing poetry and now I’m using a fun structure think like Haiku.

some of my favorites are....

”I like smelling like woman’s perfume” not that I sprayed it on me. Some might get it.

and

”my fake girlfriend thinks I’m ugly”

YOU KNOW THEY AINT NO SUCH THING AS LEFTOVER CRACK!!!- Leftover Crack

Finished American Gods by Neil Gaiman a month or so ago.

Next was King's Elevation on audiobook, and currently listening to King's The Insitute on audiobook.

If you haven't read any Gaiman they are a whole bunch of fun. The characters are interesting and it doesnt take itself too seriously.
