Look, guy, this isn’t how music works, I don’t know if your messing with us or if your just naive, but there is no way in hell that you can convince random people (the ones on this forum) to fund you if you don’t have a product. I know you think your lyrics are fire as hell and that if you could just get that group and that money you could make something really special, and you know what, its possible, if you said that group was on board, then that means your lyrics resonated with them, but your not gonna make your vision of hearing those songs come through by begging. 

If you want to start a career writing lyrics go for it, if you found a group that wants your lyrics, that’s fucking freaking great. But you can’t go begging for the budget, if you want money, go earn it, you could have the greatest talent in the world, but your not getting any handouts. Musicians are ALWAYS looking for handouts, every one of them, I even used to do it, they always want lyrics for free, they always want beats for free, they always want recording and mastering for free, but it just isn’t going to happen. If you want us to support you come back with a product, if you need money to make your dream with that group happen, go make that in a job. I’m working on music right now myself, I’m trying to make metal covers of ICP songs, and some more original stuff, and I spent all of last year doing the dumbest shit imaginable trying to get money, only to luck out and get it from less stupid means. 

And even if you get the money don’t expect everything to fall into place, everyone’s first product sucks, almost no exception, when the Beatles started out, people who heard them originally said that they were pretty bad actually, but they put on show after show after show after show, basically every day for years. 

I tried recording something a while back, something I’m still trying to get right now, and honestly, it sounded like shit, I trashed the recording and cried, thats the reality of trying to make your vision come true, it takes effort, and it takes grit, you can just plop in and expect it all to fall in place, but I’m still practicing, I’m gonna keep fucking practicing until I get it right. If you want your vision to come true, start small, and don’t go begging for shit, none of the greatest artists went around asking for handouts. 

I added a long ass edit but it didn’t save, now it won’t let me edit it, ugh, I’ll just summarize what I was going to say. Even if you weren’t looking for us to fund you (which you were we all heard you say that) a vision is not enough, you need the talent to make that vision work, and just writing the lyrics isn’t enough to make that vision happen, there’s also directing the group, and the aspect of either having to pay them or impress them so much that they actually want to listen to you. If this group you mentioned is willing to listen and wants to play your music without pay (not including the cost of production), well then damn, you and that group are pretty lucky to have found each other, but if that’s not the case your not likely to find a group where that will be the case with. There are people who want lyricists out there but its not that common ESPECIALLY FOR RAP WHERE ITS ALL ABOUT THE LYRICS. in order to find people who are willing to listen to you, you need a resume, a list of accomplishments, music that you’ve had a hand in directing that people can hear and know that your capable, and as I said, even if you found the group, directing them is going to be a lot harder than you think.
