a forum board dedicated to the hobbyist artists.
ive beent hinking on this for a while. definitely alot better than us all posting on the underground music section and out shit getting lost after a few days. unless of course your the warlock and start a war just so you can keep people looking at your music.

easier place for a wider variety of music that is more concentrated on the ‘little guy’.

I used to try to listen to everything that people posted, music wise, in hopes of finding something good. It’s been about 18 months, and not a GAT damn thing worth saving. Even the PMB got played out. It was definitely… better than bad. But like, the quality was inconsistent. I eventually deleted most of the tracks and finally deleted the rest.
Not trying to be mean. Just trying to be realistic. Honestly, I’d repurpose the “Rap Battle” forum to include amateur rap, but honestly a good 95% of the shit posted in the Underground forum is amateur.
And thanks for not calling me a moron, ya aussie cunt ya.

but i do like a fair whack of the stuff that surfaces on here. but thats just me.

What’s NOTA?
I voted no but mostly I don’t care. I don’t think there’s a real need for it. It’s not hard to find music here as it is.
On the flip side to my sort of no leaning towards who cares, it could get more people to come here.

Most of the time half of the threads on the front page now are Novocaine and a few other ninjas promoting their music, and free beats, etc.
If you think another forum is required to shine a spotlight on those dudes then so be it.
Of course a better way for those aspiring Juggalo rappers to get some shine would be to buy a cheap monthly ad on Faygoluvers off Scottie D.
Then your shit would be promoted on the front page at all times!

that will change, it always does.
im working nights atm, so most of my days are filled with making music and lurking on faygoluvers. eventually ill go bck onto days an i wont be posting nearly half as much.
i just cant understand exactly why people would be opposed to this? luckys input makes no sense. if you dont like it dont read/listen….. this would make it even easier to ignore it.
i agree that people aspiring to become something more should probably front up for an ad or two, but im aspiring to kill boredom and express myself creatively. i aint paying for an advertisement, because its never going to give me a return. im not gunna be charging for any album i put out. plain and simple.
if someone chooses to give me money, it goes into a pot and gets spent on music related items to help me improve. ie: new microphone and other goodies.

this is my other thing, we get alot fo traffic here. new artists show up every few weeks and dissapear because they post at some ungodly hour and the post gets lost in the fold of rip geno cultshit posts and what the funk volume team had for breakfast.
a ‘hobbyist board’ would kill that, because the people who are interested in new music would have to go trolling through mountains of posts.
we 15 – 20 regulars wont really have much of a problem, because well we are here constantly and see most of what goes on. everyone else, not so much. personally, i would LOVE to see way more people get involved with FLH mixtapes. we ended up down to like 6 or 7 people on DOD from like 11.
and ive been hit up by 5 or 6 GOOD artists to get involved with it, sadly most of them missed the cut off date. my assumption is that most of the regulars who post and dont make music either wont care or will be mildly interested and the regulars who do make music will support it.
/shrug
i think its a good idea, gotta grow and evolve. cant sit in the same place forever.

I don’t understand why it’s a poll if the idea that people would vote no is so out there or whatever. If you are already sold just shoot the mod team / Scottie/ who ever a pm and get it going.
I think the forum would be dead like a lot of the forums around here. I don’t think it’s difficult to find new music here if it’s wanted. And I think you get into the general problem horrorcore sites get into: what’s underground and what’s amateur. It sucks to be ignored but it sucks worse to not be taken seriously. And if I were a rapper trying to make a name for myself I’d want my name to be next to established artists. If someone posts their music in “underground” but someone moves it to amateur, they could take it as a diss.
And what about people who only post in that forum? What if it becomes spam central?
Would it be for advertising, for critiques, or for workshopping? For all three?
Create it if you want but I’m pretty sure I’d never listen to anything posted in a section where people are dismissing their work before I even look at the post.
But that’s why I don’t even post my garbage lol.
Amway. It seems like minds are made up in the affirmative so just do it and those of us who don’t like the idea will get over it. I don’t think any of us HATE the idea, we’re just not excited about it.
