Who is DJ Godzila?
After a post about the new Twiztid project with Blaze Ya Dead Homie and DJ Godzila surfaced, a lot of people had the same question: Who is DJ Godzila? I personally quickly learned that he had one previous track with Twiztid and Blaze (Nightcrawler which also features Neosha) that was released a year ago, plus a track that features Jarren Benton and Monoxide, released a short time after that.
The other reoccurring comment was something along the lines of, “This is just low budget 3HM.” This led to a message received here at Faygoluvers from DJ Godzila himself that said:
“Want some clarification on the Odyssey record? It’s origin? And the fact it’s not a rip off of 3HM?”
So, I responded with:
“Hey! We will take any information you’d like to share, and will likely use direct quotes. Fair warning, regardless, there will still be people who just do not care.”
DJ Godzilla responded with 1 word. “Understood.”
He and I had a great conversation leading to a short interview, which you can read below:
Stockwell: So, let’s start with who is DJ Godzila?
DJ Godzilla: “My name is DJ Godzila. Given to me by a childhood friend at the age of 14, I’m now 30. Hence the album art work. (Retro Godzilla theme) nothing to do with Violent J, Esham, and that other dude… I’m originally from ATX. I currently reside in Denver Colorado. I’ve been producing music for a little over 5 years.”
Stockwell: Since you got right into it, let’s go ahead and get that out of the way, too. How would you like to address the comparisons to 3HM?
DJ Godzilla: “I began production on the (at the time un-named) Oddysey record in February 2023. The 3HM tour started in May, I believe. People calling this record a knock off version of 3HM are 100 percent wrong. People even say I’m using similar sounds as the 3HM record…. not the case at all.
As a matter of fact, I had the first Instrumental sitting in a folder on my desktop for over a year. It’s now the Instrumental for the single “It’s About To Go Down.” I’m sure listening to the rest of the record, when it’s released, will deter further accusations as a knock off. People are just freaking out about album art, and it’s kinda silly.
More about the cover art… I had no idea Godzilla would be featured on the cover until they told me. If anything, I feel honored MNE decided to pay homage to something I love on the cover of their new album.
3HM was never brought up in conversation once during this process. I’ve never even heard a Quija Macc song in my life. Shout out to Esham though.”
Stockwell: When did you and Twiztid first link up, and how did it happen?
DJ Godzila: I linked up with Twiztid in late 2021 through a mutual friend. Contacted them about a feature with Blaze. It then turned into something larger when I asked Twiztid to join in. That created my first official single. NIGHTCRAWLER.
Stockwell: You were initially just looking for a Blaze feature?
DJ Godzila: Yes. Initially I was just planning to work with Blaze, but the opportunity presented itself to have Twiztid in the song. They’re my childhood heroes. So, I did what I could to have them on the song.
Stockwell: How did the Jarren Benton/Monoxide track come about?
DJ Godzila: The song KillStreak featuring Jarren and Mono. Amazing track. That beat originally was for an instrumental album I was putting together. I immediately heard Jarren on it. So, I sent it over to his team. Once I got it back it was missing something. I needed something more… Savage. So, I contacted Paul (Monoxide). He definitely gave me the tone I was looking for. Both MCs are incredible. I don’t think that song gets the recognition it deserves.
Stockwell: Who else you’ve done work with, or what else do you have planned?
DJ Godzila: “I’ve worked with a ton of awesome artists. A lot of music to still be released. Just recently as of today (8/29/23), I dropped a single called “Shaolin’s Revenge” featuring Ghostface Killah and INSPECTAH DECK from the Wu-Tang Clan. I’ve worked with King ISO, A-F-R-O, Twisted Insane, Wrekonize of MAYDAY, and an awesome local artist by the name of Toussaint Lorenz. He’s special because not only is he a close friend, but he wanted to work with me before anyone else. He saw my vision. He definitely deserves more recognition than he gets. I have a lot of other surprising features in the vault I’m not yet ready to speak on, but they’re coming.”
Stockwell: Lastly, any shout outs? Want to plug away any and all socials or sales or whatever you have?
DJ Godzila: I definitely want to plug the sale of my new collab record with Twiztid and Blaze. I also need to get a special shout out to my brother if that’s possible. Tyler. He helped fund my dreams and inspired me to make music in the first place. Without him none of this would be possible.

When have twiztid ever empashisized the producer in the artwork? Even for a single?
Im sure they were expecting comparisons since they chose not to budge on the artwork, regardless of 3HM & the fact they have 3 rappers also…..
Do I think the single is a knock-off of 3HM? Not at all, it sounds completely different to me & I believe they were already workin on songs with dude..
But sometimes U just gotta eat a good idea to avoid comparisons. If it truly is unintentional..

1. He literally said “that other guy” as if he didn’t know ouija, then directly says his name.
2. First he says the artwork is about his name, then he says he didn’t know Godzilla would be on it.
3. I would wager PHAT money there will be MINIMUM 1 line about ICP or 3HM, so he’s really putting his foot in his mouth and just trying to make people focus on him instead of what it’s OBVIOUS this is, an album comparable to 3HM.
Twiztid does this. They release merch like ICP does. They tour like ICP does. They do shows like ICP does. They release albums like ICP does. And vice fuckin versa. Is this fuckin kid new to the scene or something?
This bullshit is not the way to introduce yourself to the culture. We see every fuckin thing and we see THROUGH every thing.
Be real or be gone, because one thing that will always be true about juggalo shit, is we don’t fuck with fake shit or fake ness. Ask Gibby stites. Ask the other artists that fuck around and end up a permanent joke.

Disagree. The real thing is that most of us old school juggalos, say 35 and older, wish the fucking family would squash the beef and give us some of that juggalo family love. It’s okay to enjoy both, but if ICP started dropping N bombs and making 12 songs about weed and Samhain, I’d call them out too.
