After a Grammy consideration for “Best New Artist” and achieving mainstream rock radio success with “Virus,” Phoenix band Dropout Kings have returned with “Riot Music”, the first single and title track from their upcoming new album of the same name. “Riot Music” is a sonic wrecking ball that sets the tone for the band’s upcoming new album with gritty hardened lyrics, bone-chilling screams, and a flow that hits listeners upside the head like a baseball bat. The full ‘Riot Music’ LP will officially be unleashed for the whole world to hear on Friday, April 7th, 2023.
“Riot Music is an expression of the wrath of the voiceless and the scope of the hopeless. It’s the explosion of anger, fear, and frustration that everyday people feel from the stresses of society and government,” commented Dropout Kings frontman Black Cat Bill. “When those voices aren’t heard and are ignored for too long they come together to erupt! With or without a cause, a rebel needs a soundtrack.”
Dropout Kings have been on a high since signing with Suburban Noize last year. The band took their chaotic live show on the road with (Hed) P.E and then Nonpoint and SAUL, before playing several radio festivals such as KIWR 89.7’s “The River’s End of Summer Bash” with an impressive lineup that included Machine Gun Kelly, WJRR’s “EarthDay Birthday” with Shinedown, and many others. Dropout Kings recently teamed up with labelmates (Hed) P.E for a new joint EP titled “The Last Ones Standing”, which saw them collaborating with DJ Lethal from Limp Bizkit/House of Pain, Crazy Town, and fellow rap-turned-rockers Twiztid.
Dropout Kings also appeared at this year’s Louder Than Life with Kiss & Slipknot, Rocklahoma with Five Finger Death Punch & Jelly Roll, Full Force Festival with Beartooth & The Ghost Inside and So What Music Festival with I Prevail, Suicide Silence & Wage War. Dropout Kings are also confirmed for ShipRocked 2023 with Falling In Reverse & Parkway Drive.
