Last week, Jamie Madrox and Monoxide were interviewed by a podcast called Talkulture for about 45 minutes! They discussed a ton of topics including Astronomicon 6, the upcoming Certified Psychos Tour, some memories from the Gathering, wrestling, the upcoming conclusion to the Halloween movie trilogy, and more!
It was definitely a fun listen, and you should definitely check out the entire interview right here!
One of the biggest bombs that dropped that I wanted to shine a light on is something that they revealed about the upcoming Certified Psychos Tour. They said that some of the older songs from their catalog would be retired from their live setlist for the foreseeable future…and possibly forever! They want to show love to some of the newer albums/songs that they’ve released and let those get some shine. You can see that two minute discussion by clicking play below:
I also went ahead and transcribed that chunk of the interview which you can see here:
Madrox: One of the important things I want to highlight is that with this tour we’re taking it back to our roots and playing a lot of our songs that we’re not necessarily going to play anymore as we go forward because we’ve been looking at our catalog and we’ve got many many years of our material that we’ve put out. When we were doing these throwback weekends and doing some of the old school stuff people were vibing with it a lot. So we talked to Killa and Blaze and sat down and tried to put together a package of us doing a special throwback set to try to commemorate some of these iconic songs that are part of our DNA and what we are today. We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for some of these songs. I think it’s going to be fun to…I don’t want to necessarily say to play for the last time…but to play them for a very long time.
Monoxide: For the LAST TIME!
Madrox: Say it then! Say it! That’s how we feel with a lot of it. It’s true though. It’s not from a place of “we don’t like these songs” or what have you, but we’re neglecting the last five years in reverse from today of Twiztid music. We don’t perform so many songs and records that we’ve released that go unsung, so to speak, because we keep focusing on material that’s from another time.
Monoxide: What was as opposed to what shall be.
Madrox: Yeah, and that’s what makes shit like this so special and I’m sure that there will come a time down the road where we’ll do a show themed to a record if it has a celebration, anniversary, or some kind of fun shit like that. But for the long haul, we’ve been consciously being like we’re going to put a lot of these songs in the vault and on the shelf and start focusing on some of the newer creations that we’ve built in the time that we’ve been building our brand and since we’ve been doing what we’ve been doing as Majik Ninja Entertainment and putting our foot forward with that stuff. It’s gonna be fun. It’s kind of therapeutic in a strange sort of way because we get to kick these songs and put our hearts into this shit one last good time and hopefully everybody who vibes with this shit or “grew up on this shit” or loves this shit…pull up man! Pull up! I hope that you see something that you haven’t seen in a long time!
Monoxide: As Twiztid we haven’t been to the west coast in 5 years. We could have probably gone over there and did whatever we want but we just feel it’s come to a point where we have to move forward. If we keep doing stuff from behind, your roots become stagnant, nothing grows, and it’s just like…Mostasteless might be your favorite record…but it ain’t mine!
Damn. I’m not sure how to feel about this one. I know they’ve got over 25 years of songs to choose from, but for us not to hear some Mostasteless or Freekshow staples that we all know and love will be pretty different.
The point is though…if you love the old school Twiztid shit, this Certified Psychos Tour should be a MUST SEE for you! Check out dates, get VIP packages, and everything else that you need at CertifiedPsychos.com!

So they’re going to stop playing the shit, that the ppl who still fuck w them actually want to hear? They’re going to instead play their modern emo bitch garbage?
Yeah, that will sell show tickets.
We all know how much twz has already been selling out shows left n right the past few yrs as it is. Especially when tickets are sold 8 months in advanced. Sky’s the limit everybody. This will work.
