I wish he was still on Psychopathic. Unfortunately for everyone involved with MNE, they never had any real smoking gun as to why they all jumped ship and bit the hand that fed them. Literally no reason was ever given that wasn’t just Twiztid whining about past mistakes and taking immature jabs. I loved Boondox but I just can’t listen to him anymore.
Good on anyone who still enjoys his music, he’s a talented dude.

Dox does have some skills i wouldn’t argue against that. However, when he was on psy, I wish they wouldn’t have called him “the scarecrow” to me and so many others, the scarecrow is, and will always be Lord Infamous RIP. Also, I actually like his dj clay tracks alot more than his album tracks. The reason being I felt like his dj clay shit was just dope music for the sake of being dope music. Most of his “boondox” music I just don’t care for. I feel like he has to force out material as “boondox” and when you have to force it, it’s not usually very gd. The last dox album I bought was south of hell, I thought that was garbage. And abbadon, I only liked 2 tracks off that. I wish he’d drop the gimmick shit and just do what he feels instead of shoe horning his music to fit into the boondox character. But yeah he can most def spit some bars.

Rollin’ Hard was an insanely good song to introduce him with. The Harvest was really good in general. But I would agree, forcing everything through the bottle-neck of a gimmick is kinda limiting. His verse on Kept Grindin was one of the best because he came off so real and relatable.
Maybe an album with no (or reduced) gimmick would be good. It’s insane to me that he was never discovered before his Boondox days. Like I said, I wish him well.

Im not sure if im reading your sentence weird but i know he was turncoat before boondox and was in a group. Are you saying he was unknown then or just not as known as when psy signed him and started calling him boondox. Also i dont really care for the gangster gimmick thing but him as yung dirt rhymin with the rydas over better beats (imo) i really enjoyed the most from him.

Yeah sorry that wasn’t very clear – Like Ouija Macc was in Swag Toof but nobody knew who he was until Gutter Water is kinda what I meant. Yung Dirt was just some guy making little to no waves until Psychopathic propped him up and gave him some spotlight. He was really good though and I could see bigger labels giving him a shot based off his skill. I guess there’s so many talented rappers who just don’t seem to make it big.

The harvest is decent but I think I like Krimson Creek as his best overall album. Both were solid imo. The harvest was gd bc it felt like it was him being more himself diving into the boondox character. Krimson Creek was a gd direction for the character then it just started getting really bad and corny after that. Not bad exactly but I just find a lot of boondox songs don’t feel executed well. I don’t like country music, but some of the shit he was doing was dope. Shit like sippin on down I liked, I still think that beat sounds nuts on some gd speakers, especially if youre fucked up on something.
And as far as dox not being discovered prior to being on psy, if I’m not mistaken he was in a country/rock/rap band. I don’t know much about it but I do believe that’s what he was doing before psy. He was actually the lead contestant in the underground psychos contest, the one AMB “won”. Icp thought they had 2 gems and were like fuck it we’ll just sign both.

I miss old Psychopathic. The Faygoluvers interview with Scotty D where they talked the twiztid beef violent J said “Every album is going to have a family track with everybody!” – Hasn’t happened. Such an easy thing to deliver on, too. And where has ABK been? He did an instagram live like 2 years ago and said he has 3 albums worth of music he was going to submit and still nothing. Hav Knotz was cool but Killa on his own is the shit. And Looney Goonz with ICP, Hoodo, and Lyte never happened. An American Life never happened. Weird to me unless J’s health issues are really fucking him up.
