I must be getting old – why would anyone buy a Vinyl of a classic that you can hear on your cd? If vinyls are popular and worth money, wait till cassettes become a hot items, I will be a thousandaire in no time flat.

Been collecting vinyl since before Record Store Day’s inception (the reason for the vinyl resurgence), I will be collecting after. So to anyone thinking I’m bandwagon jumping with the hipsters “eat a dick up til ya hiccup”

RSD is essentially the last ditch effort to save the record store, and it works vinyl is year after year on the incline only by a percent but that percent means 1 million.
It pales in comparison to the HUNDREDS of millions of streamers, myself included I’m not a collector who doesn’t see the convenience of digital over carrying Cds around or vinyl/cassettes for the matter. And your not off point in your cassette collection making you some scratch soon enough.

mostly the novelty of it, some of it is just collect-o-mania. and some people just like listening to music on turntables.
the audio quality argument, however, is basicly invalid. i strongly doubt there was ever a higher-than-cd-quality master of this album. at best, itll be a high-fidelity transcription of… two digital waveforms.
i wouldnt think theyd put out vinyls that are of lower quality than digital… but the picture disc haters have told me that is sometimes the case.

Vinyl > CD. Cassettes have advantages too and you’re a fool if you think they are not already “hot” right now. Your old tape stash isn’t likely worth dick however. Longevity is not one of the tapes advantages and they age very poorly. Properly cared for vinyl will last a lifetime.
