Strange Music CEO Travis O’Guin has kept an artist’s signing under wraps for more than 2 years! The heads of Strange Music are looking to expand their independent empire by starting up a Pop Music division.
The first signee to this division is a group called AboveWaves. You may recognize one of the four members, Ryan Bradley, from past Tech N9ne tracks. He’s got a hell of a voice, and it’ll be interesting to see what the group brings to the label.
Yesterday on Travis O’Guin’s Instagram, he stated the following:
I want to introduce 4 incredibly talented young men to all of you, Abovewaves. I’ve been listening to their album for the last several months and I am so impressed! This album has taken us over 2 1/2 years to put together and we couldn’t be more proud of the final results. Seven, Tech, Dave and I set out on a mission almost 7 years ago to develop a Popular Music division for Strange Music and Abovewaves was one of our first signings more than 2 years ago. We’ve since added 2 other signings to this division. I love quality music as you all well know, this is incredible music! We are going to start rolling this out Real soon, stay tuned!
The Strange Music Blog ran a great article this morning detailing their signing. You can check that out here: http://www.strangemusicinc.com/2016/11/abovewaves/strange-music-reveals-new-band/
Make sure to follow AboveWaves on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to keep tabs on them!

I understand SM desire to diversify their artists. I respect that. As they get more and more diverse will FLH continue to promote them all? Does anyone actually come here for boy-band updates? Just curious.

I struggle with posts like this Guest. I know that 99.9% of our readers would never purchase a pop album like this. However, it does have the Snake and Bat logo on it, so what should we do?

Too much news is better than not enough. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. I’m glad faygoluvers reports stuff like this.

I’d say report the joining but don’t cover the group the same way.
