There’s a New Strain of Clownfish called “Juggalo Clownfish”… For Real!

So I’m not sure if we should be honored by this or not but there’s a new strain of Clownfish they called “Juggalo Clownfish.” The fish was first introduced by Sea & Reef Aquaculture and was revealed at MACNA 2015 (whatever that is) last year with an official name ‘to be determined’.
Apparently the ninjas at Sea & Reef Aquaculture like the name “Juggalo” or are Juggalos or just though the fish looked like a Juggalo, we don’t know. Either way we now have a “Juggalo Clownfish.” It does look like what a Juggalo would look like if it were a fish though.

Dope.

I know nothing about marine biology or any of that shit so I wont try and sum it up beyond that.

Check out some pictures of this beautiful fish that’s down with the Clown and read the article below.

Juggalo Clownfish is Becoming a Sensational New Strain

The Juggalo Clownfish is what we’re calling the nearly mature ‘Super DaVinci‘ clownfish first introduced by Sea & Reef Aquaculture. This clownfish was first displayed at MACNA 2015 last year with an official name ‘to be determined’, and while we haven’t heard much more about this clownfish since then, the fish have continued to grow and develop in marvelous fashion.

The Juggalo clownfish has a pedigree of some of Sea & Reef’s best black DaVinci clownfish, but the wild stark white and bold black pattern is unique to just a small fraction of the offspring. We thought that the young Super DaVinci clownfish looked pretty amazing last year, but now that they’re grown up a bit, these clownfish are now full-on, jaw-dropping Juggalo Clowns.

Although it seems like we’ve already seen every flavor of designer clownfish from wild type to fully white platinum clownfish, the markings of the Juggalo Clownfish are out of this world. A bright white face-mask is punctuated by just a few black patches, especially around the eyes, giving these clownfish the sinister look worthy of being a Juggalo Clown.

Before you go beating down Sea & Reef’s digital door looking to get your own Juggalo Clownfish, keep in mind that these fish have not yet been released. Furthermore, a very small percentage of the offspring from the founding pairs turn out with this wild color pattern, so Sea & Reef Aquaculture is still working to improve the production of their new stunningly beautiful and original clownfish strain.

The only other clownfish we’ve ever seen that displayed this bold of a color pattern, especially the face mask is the Peacekeeper Maroon Clownfish. Interestingly, that strain has also failed to hit a critical mass to the point where more than a handful have entered the hobby.

Perhaps the Peacekeeper and the Juggalo clownfish have a similar gene which is hard to breed for, which is why we’re seeing so few of these sensational strains of clownfish. The Juggalo Clownfish, Super DaVinci or whatever Sea & Reef ends up calling it, is one of the few new clownfish strains which has really captured our imagination so we’ll be sure to keep you posted on when this fish is finally released to the aquarium hobby.

Yall can’t see it but I was smiling like a mad man while reading this. I hope they get that name officially. But the real question is will the FBI harass them too?
