Fresh off of the Ill Mind of Hopsin 8 debut, former Funk Volume CEO and manager Damien Ritter told his side of the Funk Volume disbanding via a platform called Spreecast last night. He took an email that Hopsin sent him a few months back and broke it down piece by piece. He also gave his thoughts on the Ill Mind 8 track, spoke about SwizZz, Jarren Benton, Dizzy Wright, and more! It’s about a 1-1/2 hour conversation, and worth hearing the other side of the story.

Definately gotta show this to the Hop fans at school just to piss em off. Dame seems more believable since he’s just being calm n shit, and not flipping shit like Hopsin.

He also said the same think me and my friend were saying about iLL Mind 8, it’s not gonna be relevant for long, now 7 will be timeless.

I watched Hopsin’s interview and when he said “How can I be lazy when I produce all of my music and all of my videos?” my first thought was, ‘that’s not all an artist is supposed to do’. Then here comes Dame with his confirmation. Making the music is the easiest part. The other shit is the hard part. The fact that Hopsin bitched about having to do meet and greets then compared himself to a slave confirms how lazy he is. Then Hopsin bitches about the percentages when he was making almost double what dame was. Dizzy was making more than Dame was. Dame was third in that. It’s not shitty percentages for the dude who put that tour together for him so he didn’t have to worry. Being a struggling artist then seeing the things Hopsin bitches about just frustrates me. I wish I could spend all day making music and doing videos and performing shows and meeting fans. That wouldn’t be work for me. I’d feel lazy.
