Paris interviewed by The Cipher Show; speaks on ICP and Juggalos

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Paris, he is most notoriously known for his song “Bush Killa” (about killing President George HW Bush) from the early 90s that caused quite a bit of controversey.  There was also a brief time where he was associated with Psychopathic Records, and was even supposed to sign a record deal with them.

Paris played the Gathering of the Juggalos back in 2011, and spoke of his experience there with a podcast at TheCipherShow.com.  At the 57 minute mark, he also discussed how overwhelmed he felt when he saw Juggalos lined up outside a venue in Denver at 11 AM several hours before the show started, and who all he met at the Gathering.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the interview from TheCipherShow.com:

Oscar “Paris” Jackson Jr. is a rapper, songwriter, and producer who has been a militant voice for justice in the rap world since the 1980s. He came out of the Bay Area’s small but diverse and creative hip-hop scene towards the end of that decade, and made a splash with his 1990 debut album The Devil Made Me Do It, which mixed innovative musical choices with Black Panther-inspired politics and a Nation of Islam-influenced spiritual bent.

But it was his second album, 1992’s Sleeping With the Enemy, that really brought Paris to the notice of the masses. A song from that album called “Bush Killa,” about assassinating then-President George H.W. Bush, and another one about revenge killings of police officers called “Coffee, Donuts and Death,” got him attention from the Secret Service and dropped from his label.

But that didn’t stop Paris, who continues to release albums, including this fall’sPistol Politics, and to rail against injustice in his rhymes.

To make it easier on you, we took the snippet out where he talks about ICPJuggalos, and Psychopathic Records and you can hear it below:

ICP connected a lot of established rappers through their events, especially the Gathering.
