If you’re on the Kottonmouth Kings mailing list, then you probably received a message from them this morning about their new Greatest Hits release called High Standards and Greatest Hits!  Here’s just aa little about it though if you didn’t already know…the hard copy version is 2 discs, and both the hard copy and iTunes versions contain 35 tracks that they’ve picked from their nearly 20 years of existence!  You can purchase both editions here:

Along with the info about the albums, there’s a message from Kottonmouth King founder: Brad “Daddy” X.  He goes into their career, the coming and going of members, and throws a few barbs in at past members and labels.  You can see the message below:

Sitting here on the magic bus after a gnarly show in the Midwest. Pops outside of St Louis, to be exact! We have been grinding in this underground Rip hop independent music scene. We have gone through all of the trials and tribulations that you might expect in this crazy journey we call Life.We’ve had members leave, die, go to prison ,go to rehab/don’t go to rehab. We’ve been ripped off and spit on, fought back and stood strong, started families and traveled the world. We have had our true convictions tested to the maximum. We were silenced by shady bottom feeding, stealing, robbing homies… We’ve had our whole lives work stolen and fought the fight of our life to earn it Back! The pressure has been enough to break most people, and it broke the weak ones. The creators of this music are now in control of its destiny! Please know that this connection that we have with our United Family around the globe is the reason we are here today!!!
