Golden Palace Entertainment artist Da Golden Child just spoke to UndergroundHipHopBlog.com about his upcoming album, why you can’t rush success, growing up in a house with seven siblings, and more!  He just released the first single from Prophesy Fulfilled featuring TwistedInsane, and it’s definitely a banger!  While his answers are quick and to the point, you can’t deny his talent.  Check out the interview below.

We are glad for the interview with you, and the first thing we want to ask is to define your name “Da Golden Child”. Where did your stage name originate from? How would you describe your creative style?          

The name comes from birth, I have 6 brothers and 1 sister and I am the youngest. When my father laid eyes on me he was overcome by the Holy spirit, and the name stems from that. My style comes from nothing but God above, point-blank.

For Hip Hop heads who haven’t heard of you yet, where are you from, what city, borough, & state? Any place or area in particular you represent?

I’m from Michigan, I represent Michigan for life.

Let’s get straight into the new video release “Mr. Thug” your team is heavily pushing. How did the idea for the video get started? Where did you shoot it? Credits on the video?

The idea comes from so many of my people living that lifestyle, and some don’t know how to relate that through a message, that’s where my gift arises. To be a voice for those that don’t have a voice. The video was shot in several different locations to bring the correct energy to the visual that needed to be portrayed.

What album is the video off of? When is it dropping?

The album is called Prophesy Fulfilled, and will drop when my spirit says its time. You can’t rush success.

Who has put in work on the album? (Features, Producers, Management, etc)

LAKAZ THE CHEMISTS produced the record, I won’t disclose all of the features yet. But the world will be pleased, my manager Michael Lee Warren helped out as far as putting me in right places and connecting me with the appropriate connections.

With the addition of Twisted Insane on the hit video, how did that professional relationship come about?

Fate, put us in one another’s path.

Who did the artwork to the single cover of “Mr. Thug”? It’s pretty dope!

I leave the visuals such as graphics etc, in the hands of my management team. They always come through for me.

Any other PR for your single and for the album? (Shows, Tours, Meet & Greets, etc). What does the near future hold for Da Golden Child?

Any booking, interviews, any public relations go through my team. The future holds success, happiness and creating a legacy.

Now, the highlight question we’ve been wanting to ask, what’s your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”

Being able to make the moves you choose to make without having an overhead controlling your moves. The beauty of being independently owned.
