Five Finger Death Punch sought him out for their pulverizing cover of LL Cool J’s “Mama Said Knock You Out,” while Lil Wayne tapped him for the mesmerizing and mind-blowing “Interlude” from Tha Carter IV also featuring none other than André 3000 of OutKast. Tech has earned his stripes with chart-topping releases and sold out tours left and right. He deserves every accolade.

His forthcoming new album, Special Effects, number 15 to be exact, will be out via his own Strange Music May 4, 2015. It’s got all the makings of a true classic from Tech. Given the energy and excitement surrounding the album, everybody from Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour to Serj Tankian of System of a Down shared thoughts on Tech in this exclusive ARTISTdirect.com feature.

What can you say about Tech N9ne?

Corey Taylor of Slipknot & Stone Sour

Corey Taylor: Tech N9ne is fucking awesome! I think he’s one of the most talented rappers out there. He’s consistently killer, and he’s extremely smart and clever. I loved working with him. We did something really cool.

Serj Tankian of System of a Down

Serj Tankian: Tech N9ne is extremely talented. I had fun working on “Straight Out the Gate” on Something Else with him, meeting him, and doing the video with him. He’s a very cool guy. He’s not just an amazing MC, he’s rhythmically one of the fastest rappers I’ve ever seen. I was just really blown away by him and his presence, and we became friends. It’s a good thing. I think we made a great song.

Chino Moreno of Deftones, Team Sleep, & ††† (Crosses)

Chino Moreno: Tech’s dope! Killer was a really cool album. He’s got such interesting word patters, and he’s super-fast. I definitely like that.

MGK

MGK: Anghellic is my shit. Tech is fucking incredible, and I loved touring with him and working with him. He’s definitely a real inspiration for sure.

Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch

Ivan Moody: I absolutely love Tech N9ne. I don’t even consider him a fucking rapper. That guy is an artist. You talk about someone with real intellect and talent. That’s him.

Aaron Nordstrom of Gemini Syndrome

Aaron Nordstrom: I listen to a lot of Tech N9ne, especially at night for some reason. He’s a freaking genius.
