Juggalo News recently conducted an interview with Potluck. In this interview 1 ton and Underrated discuss Whitney Peyton, touring with a female, their new mixtape, the KMK and Suburban Noize feud and more.

Potluck released their new mixtape “The Humboldt Chronicles” for free on Datpiff.com. You can read part of the interview below.

I know you guys have DJ 1L who has also been a tour DJ for Mars and The DRP. Whats it been like having him as the addition to your show?

1 Ton: It’s been cool. He toured with us before with DGAF and The DRP. So it’s cool having him DJ for everybody. He’s cool and he’s a huge football fan we saw the Cowboys game together. He wore his Packer’s Jersey.

I noticed the huge response to Whitney Peyton from the Rugged & Raw Tour so far, is it hard touring with a female? Is there things you can’t do or say that you normally would because shes there?

Underrated: Yes. There’s a few things but it’s a lot easier than we thought it would be. I speak for 1 Ton too. It’s a lot easier than we thought it would be. She’s a trooper, a soldier out here. So she’s a lot better than most people we tour with honestly not to be sexist but ya know you got a girl on tour there’s a lot of things you have to go through out here. No sleeping. Just the grind stuff. She gets up every day she gets ready in the van, she’s got make up to put on and she’s doing great at shows too. It’s working out good.

I thought her verse on the mixtape was great. How did the idea to do The Humboldt Chronicles come about?

1 Ton: We always work. We are always about making music so there’s never a time where we gotta make a record to make sell and record if we are on the road even when we’re off the road,it’s like we are constantly coming out with ideas song ideas, write raps, what to produce who our producer’s going to be. We’re constantly working on music. And when all that drama went on with Kottonmouth Kings and our label Subnoize we had no idea what that was going to do or what direction we were going to be going in. So we decided since we are already half way through making the album, why not finish it and give it away for free. That was our idea give it to our fans for supporting us. Buying tickets and shirts. We would give them a free album.

With all the collaborations that you guys have done over the years is there anyone you hope to do a track with in the future?

Underrated: Yeah, but we’re drawing a blank. We are fortunate we know a lot of people there are a lot of bigger names we’ve been messing with and been doing work with, getting collabs with. It’s at the point in our career where we’ll make songs and seems like it’ll fit with someone. It’s like that song with Whitney Peyton. We needed a girls voice on that song. We met her on the Twiztid show and that song was perfect for her. We first played the song and it was all guys on there. We have our boy Jay boy he had hook on there and he had a verse and we told him that we felt it was a little too harsh we wanted it to be more of a keep it real song not oppression with three guys on there. We felt that having a woman’s voice in there and a person to come on there and bring it back the other way. Give you a woman’s idea a woman’s perspective of what it came to meeting guys and meeting girls at clubs and the whole initial flirting thing and feeling like you can get with a girl or getting with a guy. We felt that adding that whole perspective would take the song to a whole ‘nother level. I think Whitney really came though and killed that verse. She did a great job.

I realize you guys just recently put out the mix tape on Halloween, but is there anything else big in the works?

1 Ton: Yeah, well we just released that mixtape we have four music videos we’re doing coming off that mixtape. The next video is called Real Weed Living. That one will be coming out we have three more coming out. We are always working on music so we will have a new album coming out. We have another tour that we are working on also. We constantly stay working.
