My trip to Cleveland was not unlike any other trip, there was very little incident, although it was nice to have sunshine this time rather than the downpour I had experienced a few weeks ago when I got into town. I arrived at Peabody’s a few minutes after 5 o’clock and saw a handful of Juggalos already lining up outside. Luckily I was able to park closer this time, and after kicking it with my Ohio homies, I checked in at the door.

Upon entering the venue I immediately passed the Tour’s merch table. There was a variety of ABK and DJ Clay items including t-shirts, CDs, stickers and much more. The most interesting item though I would have to say was ABK’s “Warrior Blood” energy drink and energy shot. Now I had no idea Killa had a drink out, I was aware of ICP’s Spazzmatic and Twiztid’s Energy Tea, and I had heard rumors of Blaze having a drink as well. I copped myself one of each of the energy drink and energy shot. I drank the energy drink on the spot, I found it pretty good. The closest thing I can compare it to is a “Sparks” alcoholic energy drink (minus the alcohol of course), or for my non-drinkers, imagine a liquid version of “Smarties” candies. The energy shot I saved for my ride home later (which I did drink as I left Cleveland, the flavor was not as good as the drink, but I enjoyed it more than a “5 Hour Energy” and certainly gave me the kick I needed to get home!).

In the beginning the crowd seemed kind of thin, but as the night progressed the attendence increased. The show started off with a local group called “The Unknowns” hitting the stage. I thought they were pretty good, and they got the crowd hyped up and moving. After The Unknowns finished up, BiPolar Opposites (Phatty L & Face) delivered a great set, dedicating it to all of their recent fallen homies, including Shawn Summers and Alley Ann. Next up was Cleveland local Razablade, who tore the stage up and got the crowd moving for the Tour headliners.

The first touring act was an artist who called himself “Bake Lo.” This ninja definitely had family love and brought a lot of energy to the stage. His set went by so quickly the crowd seemed slightly disappointed when he stepped off stage. The mood was not dampened though as the next performer up was Mr. Y.U.G.. Now for those of you who have never heard of this cat, Y.U.G. is the younger brother of The R.O.C. He came out on stage first dressed in an ICP hoodie and a blue hockey mask with the letters YUG along the mouth. About halfway through though he removed the constume and delivered the rest of his set.

After a short wait, DJ Clay hopped up on stage. He spent the first fifteen minutes or so of his set spinning tracks, including some new ones from ‘A World Upside Down.’ Once the crowd was real live, Clay took off the headphones and grabbed the mic to perform some of his solo songs. He ended his set by performing “Just a Little Song I Wrote.”

ABK was the final act for the evening, and had a small stage set with him including a grill, table and chairs, and a fake firepit. Killa brought a lot of energy with him to the stage, and by the point the room was crowded almost shoulder to shoulder. ABK performed many Juggalo favorites including “Gang Related” and “Stick and Move,” as well as “Rain Dance,” “Super Killa Fragilistic,” and “Last Chance.” All in all the crowd enjoyed his set, there was a lot of moshing and moving around and towards the end of his time, he brought a little Juggalette up on stage with him.

As far as I know there were no security-related incidents throughout the night, everyone was friendly and respectful of each other and had a good time. Unfortunately ABK wasn’t feeling up to an interview afterwards, but DJ Clay met up with me for a quick photo. The only criticism I would have to give about the night was the sound quality. I’m not sure what was going on with it, but they had the instrumentals and the microphones up a little too loud, it made it kind of hard to understand at times and gave a few people headaches. Other than that small detail though, it was great night with a good turnout by the end, giving it was a Wednesday evening.
