Playboy the Beast has a contest going on, and there’s a lot of information about it on his Facebook page.

I’d like to preface this by saying contests can be a great opportunity for underground artists. I first heard several up and coming artists via contests. It’s not just a way to be heard, they usually provide beats for the artists to use, and can lead to relationships with others involved in the contest.

Record your track, and upload to youtube (actual video optional)

Entitle your video: Playboy the Beast‘s “So You Think You Can Rap” Contest and your artist name

Send photo of your choice, and youtube URL of your video to: [email protected]

All entry’s must be submitted by June 17th.

All contest entry’s/pics will be uploaded to Playboy The Beast’s page June 18th and the public voting stage will begin.
Public voting will take place until July 1st.

Top 20 finalist’s will be announced July 2nd (based on the most votes/likes.) Judges will then go over the top 20 for the next few days, and narrow the finalist’s down to the top 10 (views, likes etc. will be taken into consideration but not be deciding factor)

Then, an additional voting round will take place via fb poll until July 10th at midnight, to determine the top 3 winners! The Top 3 will be announced Friday July 12th. along with another major announcement.
