Rittz exclusives with BET and VIBE

Some of you may have caught this post on his Facebook earlier, but in preparation for his new album drop tomorrow (April 30th), Strange Music‘s new heavy-hitter Rittz recently sat down with BET Television for the first episode of their “Music Landing Exclusive” series. The whole video is about 7 minutes long and covers a lot of ground.

Some of the things Rittz talks about is his introduction to Tech N9ne via Yelawolf, and his signing to Strange Music last August. He talks about his influences, including Outkast and Big Boi, and how he and the label manage their long distance relationship. Rittz talks about his new ablum ‘The Life and Times of Jonny Valiant‘ and working with various artists, including Mike Poesner and Travis Barker as well as many others.

You can peep the video here:

Also for those of you who may have missed it, VIBE caught up with Rittz for a quick interview the other day. This one is only 3 minutes long and he briefly talks about his new album. A lot of what’s said he already talks about in the BET interview, but he lists a few more influences, including Geto Boys and Eminem as well as a more personal look at what ‘Life and Times’ means to him.

That video can be viewed here:

i still dont know how i feel about rittz, i thought white jesus was so so, and the life and times of johnny valiant wasn’t much better.

dont get me wrong, there are a few killer tracks but at the end of the day if you use this album as background music (which i do most of the time) then it sounds like 1 hour of the same sound repeating itself over and over.

Sorry n shit tech, i think you swung and missed with rittz, love him when he dies a single verse collabing with someone, but a whole album. no thanks.

I back headtrauma’s statement just to level out the hatery a bit. The new cd is a fucking banger..Has forgettable tracks, yes. But there are quite a few tracks that have substance to them. Dudes flow is so good he doesn’t need a beat to carry the song…Check “wishin” for proof

Everybody needs a beat except spoken word. It’s not hatery it’s truth.

no not everyone needs a beat…See brotha lynch on MDK. Some artists can carry a track with their percussion like flow.

Acapella they still go on the beat just remove it later. Rittz isn’t all that great. Don’t reply back.

I dont know what the fuck you are talking about. I don’t care about the process just what the end product sounds like. You’re making an argument where there isn’t one..But somehow you still win, troll. You don’t reply back

i agree with alum on this. ill who cares how they do it? if the end product is dope then its dope.
life and times of johnny valiant, was not.
Its not hatin on rittz, he is a great artist ot collab with , but a full album is not as strong as it could have been.
easily the weakest strange release of the year. which is ssad because manniblector and Constant energy struggles have become 2 of my fav albums. black gold was good, but i think kutt gets confused with his style sometimes adn it hurts his flow.
