So Sick Social Club (Updated)

So Sick Social Club
So Sick Social club - "Run" So Sick Social Club - "Flickering ft. Hopsin & Dead Celebrity"

Juggalos and juggalettes, it is I, your Underground Spotlight master extraordinaire BeZerk. After doing this for almost two years now, I”ve seen and heard a lot of good stuff, some bad stuff, but usually a lot of good stuff. When I first started doing the UGS, this next updated interview was recommended by none other than Mr. Scottie D himself, and juggalos, this is the shit you just crave and can’t get enough of.

So I went off Scottie’s recommendation and I was whip kicked in my sexy ass face with the tunes of an aggressive metal rap hop that left me on my ass. That was over a year and a half ago (Click Here to check their last interview), and ever since our last interview, SSSC has been rocking shows, killing sick collabs, building their fanbase, and still delivering their unique rap, metal, hip-hop sound that makes them stand out in the Canadian, and even the American underground.

Some of the things they were able to do is collab with Hopsin, Sid Wilson (of Slipknot), Slaine, Madchild, and many others. They also did shows with Blaze, D12, Swollen Members, Tech N9ne, and many other big names in the underground (that statement sounds contradictory lol). This summer, So Sick will be touring Europe. So if there is any European juggalos out there checking Faygoluvers from abroad, be on the look out for a show you’re not going to want to miss.

Well juggalos, it’s time for me to go hit on the hot girl at the Kmart Gardening Supply. Let’s see how long before I get maced. Wish me luck juggalocoros. Enjoy…

[Also if I failed to mention, I’ve got a new whip now and been 1000 times busier than usual. I cannot update the UGS as much as I would like or as much as I used to. I also have been going through a pickier selection process. Please don’t get butthurt if you don’t make the selection. Instead, try harder and come back in 6 months, and try again.]

BeZerk:Who do you guys consider as an inspiration?

CHRIS SO SICK: We have a ton of influences, Obviously we have the wicked shit in us, so if it was not for ICP, Esham, Twiztid, Dayton Family, Gravedigaz and Onyx, this hip hop horrorcore genre would not exist. We grew up on their stuff. My first rap CD was The Ringmaster! We are also metal and retro heads so we love the big 4. We love how Rock-n-Roll helped create the wicked shit too with Alice Cooper, Ozzy and Rob Zombie. When we saw their shows growing up, we all said that those guys know how to put on a killer horrifying entertainment live show. It’s great that on this album we actually got to work with a lot of our influences too Onyx was a dream collab, then Necro, Madchild and Slaine of La Coka Nostra, Snak The Ripper,  followed then Dead Celebrity Status, Sean Strange, Slaves on Dope, Peter Jackson, Bishop Brigante and we had to give it up for the underground and got to work J-reno Canada’s King of the wicked shit and then as if it could’nt be sicker we collabed with…. Fucking Hopsin!

VOODOO DREW: Of course along with everything Chris mentioned ICP, Twiztid, Onyx, Gangsta NIP etc..Bands like Black Sabbath, Dio, W.A.S.P., Twisted Sister, Van Halen, Ozzy, Metallica, Yngwie Malmsteen, Kiss, Judas Priest, Rainbow, Iron Maiden etc.All of the fore mentioned were great musicians but also had an amazing live show. So Sick Social Club FIRMLY believes that everybody who comes to see us play should get their moneys worth. We will literally bleed for our Sickos, we do all of this for them. Every time we see a fan with a So Sick Social Club tatoo, custom made figures of us, tshirts, hoodies, outfits etc… It really inspires us to bust our asses for them. This isint about money for us. This is about entertaining the people who give a fuck about us and we want to show love back 10 times as much. That inspires me as well as weed and Snookis dirty vagina. Probably tastes like feta cheese. YUM!

BeZerk:What are your guys’ favorite Faygo flavors?

CHRIS SO SICK: Classic Red Pop

VOODOO DREW:toss up between 60/40 and the Ohana Lemonade

PAPA MIDNIGHT: Grape

BeZerk: How long have you guys been doing music both individually and as a group?

SO SICK SOCIAL CLUB:   We have been around for over 4 years and just welcomed in Papa Midinight this past year.

CHRIS SO SICK: I’ve been doing music for over 15 years

VOODOO DREW: About the same amount of time as Chris. I was in a bunch of different Metal bands over the years, if you search hard enough, you can find a metal vid with myself on guitar on YouTube. I’ve spent many years studying the guitar, music production and engineering. I spend a lot of time in the lab working on So Sick. We are already hard at work on a follow up! We never stop working for you guys.

BeZerk:What do you guys think makes you unique from other groups or artists?

CHRIS SO SICK: We have a sick balance of rap/rock/melody and insanity in our songs.  We like to use melodic vocal patterns to help break up our songs and have you singing while your stabbing sxt! We like to use crazy guitar riffs and lots of group vocals to help bring that power sound. Also, people label us the pop band in the horrorcore scene and we don’t mind because we are song writers by heart and killer songs always incorporate melody, harmony and sick lyrical flows. Also our beats are played live by Voodoo Drew, we never sample anything which is why our beats are unique and help separate us from the pack.

BeZerk: Well, a lot has happened since our first interview. Tell the juggalos about your guys’ experience’s in the past year and a half.

CHRIS SO SICK: Insanity really, we have been dying to get this album out. So we have been on a non stop roller coaster ride trying to do so. We have had the privilege of working with psychopathic records and other killer artists on doing some wicked shows/ tours. Those shows helped grow our fanbase and in return have earned us some sick recognition. Perhaps the sickest experience last year was performing at the Gathering. hands down the experience of a life time! We met so many cool people, made a ton of new fans and were blown away on how much we were accepted and respected by the juggalos. Then we teamed up with one of the hottest up and coming labels Reel Wolf Records and they have taken music videos to a whole new level. Tom, James and Amir are running the scene in Canada and really keep it real. Their videos for us have earned us world wide exposure! To top it all off in December we played the big ballaz show and formed a life long family relationship with the former WWE champions The Headbangers! we love those guys and were blown away on how cool they are!

VOODOO DREW: I agree with everything Chris said tours like D12, Tech N9ne, Redman, La Coka Nostra, Onyx, Heavy Metal Kings have just been insane. I’m surprised none of us are in rehab, yet. Follow our fam The Headbangers @Chazmosh and @GRThrasher. We also just did their new entrance music. It’s called TREMENDOUS.

BeZerk: Who have you guys been able to work with since our last interview?

CHRIS SO SICK: All of the sick collabs on the album listed above, plus we have done shows with Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Boondox, Tech N9ne, Onyx, D12, Reef the Lost Cause, AOTP, Swollen Members, Redman, Slaine, Kung Fu Vamp, La Coka Nostra, Necro, Heavy Metal Kings, The Goondox, Slaves On Dope, Sid Wilson of Slipknot, Kung Fu Vampire, Mars and a ton more.

BeZerk: Who would you guys like to work with in the future?

CHRIS SO SICK: Our next album will have no collabs on it, however we do want to drop some special singles in the future that could feature more dead friends. It would be sick to work with Kung Fu Vampire, ICP, Deftones, Trent Reznor, Die mannequin

VOODOO DREW:For sure, as well I would love to do a track with Chris Hall from Stabbing Westward, Twiztid, Ozzy, Rob Halfrod, Ian Gillan, there are so many I would love to work with, it’s very hard for me to name just a few.I could picture us working well with a lot of different acts and genres especially. I want to do something super fresh that nobody would expect from us.We want to give the fans something new and exciting for every release.

BeZerk: What I hear is that So Sick Social Club will be touring Europe soon. What can the European juggalos expect when So Sick comes through and fucks some shit up?

VOODOO DREW: We can’t fucking wait to get over there. We have a growing fanbase over there that really want to see us live. They can expect us to give them the best possible shows we can do. Expect a lot of blood, Jagermeister, Tittys, fire and just overall insanity. It’s gonna be an honour to play for them. I’m looking forward to meeting and talking to as many of the fans I can. I really appreciate and respect their feedback, plus we are all fam so it will be one fuckin crazy party. Gotta try me some European green!

BeZerk: This April 20th you dropped Dead Friends Don’t Tell. What can the juggalos expect from this album?

VOODOO DREW:   I would just like to make a point of saying that due to internal problems the record was pushed back and we really didn’t want the people to wait that long for a new SSSC release. This record turned into a collab record because Chris and myself were looking to replace a couple of former band members, there were no hard feelings on our part, they were just looking for something else. We finally found a new member of the SSSC brotherhood Papa Midnight who got his name fom the Hellblazer comic series. Every song on our new CD “Dead Friends Don’t Tell” has a different collab and it has been an honor to work with so many great and versatile musicians. We are definitely trying to think “out of the box”.

CHRIS SO SICK: A sick jukebox of slamming songs from all of the undergound’s kings! Melodies, killer lyrical verses and a lot of aggression.

BeZerk: What else do you guys have coming up? Any more mixtapes, solo albums, music videos, merch, etc coming out?

CHRIS SO SICK:  We are going to release a new ep this summer with just so sick social club on the tracks. Get ready to hear Pappa Midnight tear up the songs with Voodoo Drew and Chris so Sick! we have over 10 songs in pre production and they all are banging!

BeZerk: I’m quite a fan of Reel Wolf Productions videos. Outside of the videos Tom has done for you guys, what are you’re guys’ favorite music video from Reel Wolf?

CHRIS SO SICK: We love everything those guys do every video is art! so many to pick from  he could film a black screen and make it look sick!

VOODOO DREW: Personally I love the video “Blood Meridian” by Ill Bill and Vinnie Paz, The Heavy Metal Kings, just because I play a major acting role in that video. lol. They have a HUGE amount of dope videos, I also really like Global Domination. If you look closely, Tom Vujcic has casted me in a few different vids, see if you can find me, follow the smell of burning trees.
