The Kottonmouth Kings are not fully experienced until you see them in show. A large cluster of the Suburban Noize Tribe was in attendance at Mr. Smalls Theatre in Pittsburgh, PA on Monday April 9, 2007. The Dog Boy was there with Lou Dog amongst the sub-noize rats, signing autographs, takin’ shots, hanging out with the fans getting a little personal time with them before rockin’ the stages nuts off!

First up was that irie-feelin’, woman stealin’, bong rippin’, rude boy, Dog Boy. Bringing the true sounds of the Rebel Riddum the Dog Boy showed the crowed a sound that, some had already become accustomed to and liked, most hadn’t heard and were turned onto during his quick set. Rockin’ the crowd right all night, he (Dog Boy) was backed up by the one and only DJ Bobby B.

Bobby B was on the turntables all night, every set. His dynamic fingers and undeniable abilities left those in attendance in a musical coma not ready to comprehend any music that was anything less than impervious.

After the Dog Boy warmed the crowd up for the upcoming Sub-Noize acts and fellow music maker Sen Dog to rush the stage leaving nothing but musical destruction in this musical warpath for the Souljahs. Honestly I hadn’t known anything about Sen Dog, except for a few Cypress Hill songs I have on my computer and the songs that they have done with various artists like the KMK over the years. I thought that this would be one of the best part of the show, from not having heard any of his material.

Sen Dog came out reppin’ the Hill draped in a fresh ass Vato/SRH Tee with bandana hangin’ out his back pocket. Puttin down the ol’ school rhymes with the fly times of the show, Sen was interrupted communicating with the crowd by a ring a ding ding on his cellular device. It was B-Real of Cypress Hill. They talked and we showed B-Real our love by several chants requested by him via cell phone. Sen Dog then announced as to why he was reppin’ the SRH so much that night, because He along with the rest of the Cypress Camp have been signed to SUBURBAN NOIZE RECORDS!!!

The crowd, overwhelmed by the shock and anticipation of what time will bring with this conjoining of two of these music industries most influential sounds, became hype as hell. Sen then proceeded to break the microphone by verbally assaulting it with so many witnesses in attendance. The stage had been rocked as he popped and locked his way to exit from the right side. I then saw Sen Dog walking through the crowd in which I gave him dap for the exciting news. After Sen Dog rushed off of the stage, there was only one more stop on this crazy ride of fun, mischief, and anarchistic-punk rock turns and twists;

THE KOTTONMOUTH KINGS!

Bobby B was still spinnin’ the ferocious discs of illusion as the Visual Assassin, Pakelika, made his way out onto the stage with a beer in one hand and a blunt in the other. Bobby’s scratchin’ still entrancing the audience for more was soon over thrown by the undertones of the voices of those Three Horny Devils: D-Loc, Johnny Richter, and the “X-rated” Daddy X.

They kicked it ol’ school while keeping it up to date. Playing many songs that fans from the most recent of times could relate to the ones that had people like me hooked over ten years ago. Such hits such as “The Rest of my Life”, “Bump”, “Dyin’ Daze”, “Bad Habits” just to name a few.

Half way through the set the Kottonmouth Komittee took a small intermission as the two High Rydas, D-Loc & Richter, aka KINGSPADE took center stage, with who other than DJ Bobby B holding down the war zone known as the turntables. Kingspade is a groupe that I don’t know too much about, other than that they are the ones who strait inspire parties, get bitches to act naughty, and have a little fun (more than most probably).

The rest of their Klique joined them about twenty minutes later (long enough to burn a quick dutch). All in all the show was mind blowing as much as it was invigorating. The KMK are a forced to reckon with, with hard pounding bass for days, drum rolls for miles, and endless good times with smiles. The show rocked my socks off, put them back on, and then ripped them off of my feet as I stumbled back up off of the floor.

If you are wondering whether you should go see them or use your money elsewhere, don’t, get out there and see these guys. ‘Cuz there ain’t no party like a Kottonmouth party, cuz the Kottonmouth party don’t stop.
