We get asked about the status of the Kottonmouth Kings pretty often. I never know how to respond, because I don’t know what their status is either. They’ve been booked on a few different gigs (including Juggalo Weekend 2017) and no-showed, and their social media hasn’t been updated consistently for a while now.
A publication called Vegas Cannabis Magazine just conducted an interview with Chucky Chuck, and he speaks a little bit on the situation. After all of the drama between KMK and Kevin Zinger, he seems to have changed his tune as compared to when the issues first surfaced. Here’s what he said.
From VegasCannabisMag.com:
My aspect was blind loyalty to one side, so I didn’t do too much research into what happened. Come to find out, I gather with that there was some kind of business dispute and they went their own ways due to drugs, other substances besides marijuana that got into people’s systems and it affected the way they think and organize work. They (KMK) start a new label and I was grateful to be a part of that legacy. The way things went down though, I’m very disappointed too. After the dust settled, people true’s colors shined through. it is what it is I guess. Shout out to Matt Hall for really puttin’ me on game, and respect to Kevin Zinger for what he’s always had going on.

I’m glad we have a Subnoize section in the FLH forum that covers a lot of the details that led to the current state of KMK.
Guest should be worrying about his upcoming Mortin’s List weekend.
I can’t wait to see the photos of that tool steady LARPING around the water park this weekend! ?

PSY should sign KMK. It would be a win win situation for 2 sinking ships. Im sure KMK would accept a low ball offer the only kind J knows how to throw. Id def be more curious to see how a KMK on PSY album would sound over anything else they been putting out for few years now (beides lyte) Maybe even put out a collab ICP/KMK album Insane Clown Stoners perhaps? ICS!! ICS!!! I haven’t spent a buck on PSY for many moons now but Id pay money for any of that.

KMK is trash juice without bobby b and richter. only person worth listening to out of them is dirtball…dude should go solo again. Daddy x and d loc(d–l.o.c.) always had the shittier lyrics and from what gossip reads the shittiest personalities as well. Also old school KMK would be a good fit for old Psy. Psy now is primarily Icp…i anticipated good things for lyte but that first single didnt resonate well with my ears. gonna have to listen to his wholealbum

I saw them on Wicked Wonka the first time; it was like a P-Funk show, there were 24 people on stage, the Taxman and like 4 other people were just there to yell and light a million blunts, it was a blast. It had been good the other 5 times i saw them too. It always seemed like it was Brad and whoever he could talk into going out on the road for a month, though. Im probably wrong about that, KMK wasnt really my thing album wise but they had a killer live show and showed us crazy love so i was always happy to see them on a show flyer. They deserve a farewell show at least.

@purplekushy that what they should have done when KMK left SNR in 2013. But when TKC put out an album, it really gave me hope that a ICP/KMK collab album would actually happen. But like @FuckemeFuck said, with KMK it’s gone from being about family to being about money.

Kmk started going downhill when Pak left and there was no reason to watch their shows.

Pigg-Pak died.
Psy should sign them, that would be something to see. It sucks that KMK is over.

Pak never really left. He was exiled. Then died shortly after of an asthma attack that lead to heart failure (broken heart). Yeah safe to say Both KMK and ICPS/PSYs better days of music are behind them. I think KMK on PSY would make a classic album IF they got either Richter or Saint Dog back. Thats their classic roster on PSY engineered beats huge untapped potential there.
p.s. Kinda odd how there more pot became legal, the more KMK fell apart.

Psy beats with KMK would be worth hearing, it could still happen in some form, half of KMK is still active.
Agree about the legal pot and decline of KMK.
