Vinnie “The ICP Kid” Monastiere pays homage to his JuggaDad

If you’ve been a Juggalo for any amount of time, you probably know who Vinnie “The ICP Kid” is, right?  He was a big part of the 1997 video Shockumentaryan ICP documentary of sorts.  Vinnie and I have become friends over the years, having first met at the 2002 Gathering of the Juggalos.  We have shared stages during Faygo Armageddon, and had some pretty in-depth conversations about ICP, Juggalos, and the whole FBI lawsuit.

You can see some footage of Vinnie in the documentary here:

Anyways, not only was Vinnie interviewed in the video, but so was Ron Monastiere, Vinnie’s father.  This year, not long before the Gathering of the Juggalos, Ron passed away which was of course completely devastating to Vinnie and everybody that knew him.  Vinnie’s therapy was the camaraderie of the Juggalo family.

He reached out to me to see if it would be possible to put a bit of a eulogy to his father up on Faygoluvers.  Of course we obliged, and you can see his tribute to his dad below.

Extreme Juggalo dad Ron Monastiere passed away suddenly on July 1, 2016. He is Vinnie the ICP Kid’s dad, and a true ninja since the very early 90’s. He attended hundreds of shows, autograph signings, and other ICP events to support his son and the juggalo community when it was first getting started.

An extreme car guy, he appraised antique automobiles and had a vast collection of his own. It’s Ron’s knack for finding rare treasures and the desire to collect & preserve things that was passed down to his son. This led to Vinnie collecting some of the rarest ICP treasures that still remain in his collection today.

The social guy that he was, he met and influenced a ton of juggalos throughout the years, even going as far as fixing their car if it broke down while at concerts. If you watch the clip of Ron in chapter 5 of the Shockumentary DVD, you can see how involved & supportive he was of his kid and all of his juggalo homies. He was a pillar of his community.  They even called him the “mayor” of his street.

He fit 100 years’ worth of life in his short 64 years on Earth. Some magnificent things that happened on his journey that you might find fresh to know: He was a United States Marine during the Vietnam War and worked on & fixed all military vehicles in the motor division.  He believed in Psychopathic Records and supported Violent J & Shaggy and loved watching them progress throughout the years. Ron was also a huge Twiztid fan he was impressed with Majik Ninja Entertainment and their success as a new company.

Many different parents have reached out to Ron to express their gratitude for influencing them to be more accepting of their child’s interests, such as their love for ICP. He helped many look past the negativity that surrounds the Juggalo community in the mainstream He was well – informed on the involvement of the FBI & it outraged him that Insane Clown Posse, the Hatchetman, and all juggalos were labeled a gang. He would be very proud to know that the Juggalos will be making a professional stand and peaceful demonstration in regards to the wrong classification of our sub-culture. It’s time to march peacefully and professionally for what is right! I know he’ll be there too & guarding the gates of Shangri-La for us all.

Extremely well said homie.  Our condolences to you and your family on the huge loss.

This hurt my heart yall. My dad is getting old and breaking down he just went legally blind recently and went through cancer of the kidneys. And he has been and is still supportive of the juggalo world for me growing up he’s taken me to Twiztid, ICP, KMK, TECH, , ETC. shows. RIP to Ron the model juggalo parent.
