And actively going out of your way to trudge up a private employee’s criminal past and calling him to account for it (you know, after the criminal justice system we have in place for such a thing already did that), the fact that it occured in 1999 notwistanding.
Before I go forward, let me make this clear: I’m not defending Sigler’s crimes in any way, shape or form. It was an ugly, disgusting action. That said, an outside entity leveraging a crime that occured 17 years ago against a privately employeed person to the point where he forfeits his employment is no kind of righteous action, it’s just shitty internet vigilantism. I don’t give a fuck if you don’t agree with what he did- nobody does- but getting up in arms because Psychopathic’s business practices are incongruous with your favorite rap tunes makes no kind of sense to me. I hate to be the one to say this, but once someone has paid their debt to society I’m far more interested in the quality of them as an asset than whatever past problems they’ve had. And let’s be honest, it’s not like he’s the only ex-con on Psy’s payroll or the first Juggalo on a sex offender registry.
I’m just saying, we’re already facing an up hill battle with the gang classification shit and the upcoming march. Character assassination among our own and directed at the boots on the ground seems like a misstep at best, as 5 out of 10 Juggalos might have figurative or literal skeletons in their closet. At worst it could be (or become) the preferred subversion tactic of government plants. I guess I’m just asking ninjas to think carefully about these kinds of things and let’s try to hold in to the unity.
