Their haters never saw it coming. For 27 years now, Insane Clown Posse have delivered their own brand of rap to legions of loyal juggalos.

Part hip-hop, part WWE-inspired theatre, their music is like the Faygo soda they spray all over their fans — delicious to some, disgusting to others. But Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope say they don’t focus on the bad press. The world is their playground, their fans are their family, and their critics are just “playa haters to the fullest.”

In a wild, wide-ranging chat, the rappers stop by during their first Canadian tour in 10 years. The lifelong friends share some of their best stories, clap back at the FBI, and explain their unique connection to their fans.

“Most people are like ‘yeah they sell millions of records, but they sell ’em to juggalos. You know what I mean? Like juggalos aren’t real people or somethin’,” says Shaggy.

Violent J shrugs it off, arguing that the colder it is on the outside, the warmer it is inside their own world.

“We are the same people who are buying our music,” says . “We are juggalos,”
