A Family is in Need of Your Thoughts and Prayers

We were hit up on Facebook about a family needing some prayers. One day, while at work Shaun Atkinsons was crushed by a lift. This accident left him with a completely crushed leg, pelvis and the left side of his torso, which also has a large open wound.

He is expect to live, but will have life long problems related to the accident.

You can read a full detailed report about what happened below.

Today I am reaching out to our community to help a deserving family in need. Shaun and Venessa Atkinson are incredible parents to identical 6 month old twins that I have the privilege to babysit while they work. Venessa is a special education teacher and Shaun works in construction. Today has forever changed their lives. In a tragic accident at work Shaun was crushed with a lift when it was backed over him at a worksite. The doctors cannot believe that he has survived such as ordeal and they are doing all they can to help him heal. The lift was so heavy and large it completely crushed his leg, pelvis and the left side of his torso which also has a large open wound. It is going to change this families life forever. They believe he will one day be able to walk again, but he won’t be able to walk well. Also, he will not be able to go back to his job and provide for his family like he has. He is looking at at least a month in the hospital and several months of recovery after. These people are the type of people that work hard for everything they have achieved in life. And unfortunately, life has knocked them down. Although, I have only known them for a short period of time it is clear to see how amazing they are. He is an amazing dad, supportive husband, and incredible provider. I am asking for people to pray for this family and if you can donate to them to help pay for the incredibly high expenses that are piling up they would so incredibly grateful. Also, if you could please share this and get it going throughout our community I know we can help this more than deserving family. Thank you all so much for your time.
