Any Wu heads on here that are into Warcloud aka Holocaust? He’s the secret weapon of the Wu, that never got his proper shine while under direct affiliation. Without getting too deep, he has a multitude of personas (and personas within personas) that all vary in style presentation, flow, content, and voice/cadence. His content ranges from violently twisted and imaginative, to cryptic and poetic.

Ah yeah, Holo hasn’t let up in the slightest. I highly recommend his album “Smugglin’ Booze in the Graveyard”, it’s basically a collab album between the personas Warcloud & Alcatraz. Thy Ghetto explained his recent endeavors well. Holo linked up with Bomshot in 2007. But they had a falling out, and Bomshot pulled the same stunt as he did with Jus Allah- stealing Holo accapellas and re-purposing them how he saw fit. This led to the release of the albums In the End Thereof are the Ways of Death, and The Signs of Hell’s Winter while Holo was incarcerated in 2012. He hasn’t appeared outside American Poet and Sinister Stricken releases since then, but I’m sure something is on the horizon, he has many unreleased projects.

The project I’m most looking forward to is the Alcatraz Jigsaw Puzzle. Which is an album that entirely consists of Warcloud in his Alcatraz persona- which is my personal favorite of his personas. The album was released in extremely limited capacity on the streets of LA in 2005, but it hasn’t seen an official release, and those who possess it are hoarding it. Pro the Leader (American Poets member and friend of Warcloud who is responsible for keeping Warcloud’s name circulating) has stated though, that the album is being/will be released as individual puzzle pieces on various compilations, and the fans have to put it together.

I’ve pieced together a Jigsaw Puzzle sampler comprised of all the tracks and snippets that have leaked from the project thus far. I figured out the placement of many tracks through a track list, that was shown when someone uploaded the Track 11 snippet. I had to dig deep into Wu-Tang Corp, and find various clues on Pro compilations (references in tracks, track lengths, etc), read interviews, etc, to gather the info to piece together the tracks that I have thus far. The album is also 13 tracks in length, and Professional is on 5 tracks.

Here is the Jigsaw Puzzle sampler. I will also make a post below this providing examples of the most concrete Warcloud personas, to make it easier to differentiate em. Enjoy! :)

As far as his departure from direct Wu affiliation is concerned. Holo got into a few confrontations with 9th Prince (RZA’s brother) of Killarmy, acquired the Warcloud persona, and from there on out he ventured on his own.

Personas:

The Architect Holocaust

This style is his foundation, the beginning of his journey. Despite being 17 upon the persona’s conception, he takes the role of an ancient poet- speaking as a “creator of all that rests within the universe”, as though he had been studying lyricism for centuries.

Holocaust (Silkworm)

Most recognize this style. It’s as though Holo was possessed by demon, and ordered to demolish every track he touched, leaving it in tatters every time. Literally no one could hang. Here we see a master craftsmen at work, staying within boundaries as a professional would stick to a script.

Skeleton Lode

As far as I can tell, this is one of the personas derived from/within the Holocaust persona, and consolidates all Holocaust variations.

Warcloud

“Holocaust was hit by a meteorite, he is now to be addressed as Warcloud.” Emerging from the wreckage, is the complete contrary of the previous style.

Warcloud has broken free of boundaries, calmed his delivery, and ventured into a deep, carefree abyss. His references are now layered in riddles, more comedic, and his content is that of something out of a ghost story. This is where the plot thickens, and becomes harder to follow.

Alcatraz

I’ve always seen this persona as the magnum opus of Warcloud as an emcee. This persona combines all Warcloud personas up to this point- as a ringleader/overseer of all personas. “The vinyl final Alcatraz.” The result is pure lunacy at its finest, with elements of all the personas wrapped into one! The Mr. Hyde of Warcloud, if you will.

The Robot Tank

After wandering many paths, the Robot Tank has now been configured. The rhyme complexity has reached an almost absurd level by this point. His lifeless/almost mechanical cadence, spews content that of a robot which has accumulated a large amount of data, and tells stories of the past, speaking to humans in riddles.

The Sign of Hell’s Winter

I can only describe this persona as being a hybrid of the Robot Tank, fused with something previously unseen within this series of transformations. He smothers beats with a fierce intensity, and relays riddles woven from the fragments of twisted nightmares.

I hope this clears up any confusion anyone may have, and defines each persona well. Enjoy! :)

Ah. Well, I did what I could to lay it all out thoroughly, haha. Hope you dig the tracks regardless.
