The fact that you'd go this route to try to insult someone tells me all I'll ever need to know about you. If you're going to utilize your freedoms - in this case, the freedom of speech that's allowing you to be an ignorant douchebag - then you damned well better show at least a modicum of respect to those people who volunteer to put on a uniform and put their lives at risk to protect those freedoms.
I mean, for Christ's sake... On Memorial Day, no less?
Fuck you, Miklo. Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
I'd follow typical internet protocol at this point at threaten to kick your ass or whatever, but I don't have the time to wait in that long of a line.

Entrapped I'm not sure why you feel the need to defend and protect young and tender LTB.
LTB lobbed the first shit grenade in my direction, he's got to expect some return fire.
My advice for you Entrapped is to step away from the battlefield.
I don't want to send you into yet another bout of depression and self pity.

It has nothing to do with LTB - despite the fact that I consider him a friend, he doesn't need somebody like me to "defend or protect" him. He's fully capable of doing so himself.
What I take issue with is attempting to use a member of our armed forces' enlistment status as a method to poke fun at them. Doing so disrespects the sacrifices made by every man and woman through our country's history who have put on those various uniforms. Beyond that, it's simply ignorant to think that's something that can be used to get under someone's skin, as almost every active service member or veteran wears their service as a badge of pride.
Bash on LTB all you want for the typical bullshit we all bash each other for around here, but leave his military service the fuck out of it - that aspect of him warrants respect even from his worst enemy.
Aside from that, what in the hell does depression or self pity have to do with anything? I mean, if you want to go there, sure - but I don't see what you intend to accomplish. Obviously you need to latch on to whatever obscure details of posters' lives they've shared. I've managed my depression for 21 years without medication and without a shrink. It's not something that bothers me or affects me in the least. And self-pity? Where are you getting that from? I am as far from a self-pitying individual as you can get. Are you referring to my comments regarding anxiety? If so, you're off-base. There was no pity sought. The way it was written was to give insight as to the battle being waged within my head in the situation I described, nothing more.
My advice to you is to stop grasping at the low-hanging fruit, and learn to formulate an actual argument. Your constant attacks upon the personal lives of folks, rather than arguing the actual topic at hand, is a sign of a weak-minded individual.

Dude's Canadian.
Also, while I respect most troops (definitely LTB) being a serviceman doesn't make you a hero. There are a lot of pieces of shit in the military. I will not worship a uniform. And honestly, no one has defended AMERICAN freedoms from shit since like World War 2. That being said, the government always acts like they honor and support the troops. But it's kinda like how republicans treat abortions, when you're in there they say they're fighting for ya. When you're out, you're fucked.

I will respect anyone who wears a uniform (military/police/fire/ems), or once did, until that specific individual gives me a reason not to.
And in regard to defending American freedoms, I agree, but that's only because nothing since then has gotten to the point where it was necessary. And it could be argued that the military's reach in modern day is part of the reason for that. Therefore - it could be said that all enlistees have been responsible for protecting our freedoms, be it in wartime or peacetime, simply by existing. By the way, it wasn't just WWII, there were definite elements of protecting our freedoms during the Cold War as well - it just depends on what accounts you read/believe and whether or not you consider the Cold War as a whole a sham, as many do.
And yes - gov't support of Veterans falls shamefully short in many regards. The current state of the VA is a glaring example of that, if you've ever had to deal with them for any reason.

I used to work with a guy that came out of the army. He was a cocky arrogant fuck who thought he was the shit and that we all owe him something. Did you hear that story about the serviceman who did not leave a tip, but wrote on receipt that he feels serving his country was goof enough? Douchy.
But I had a fellow student who was a marine in my fire academy who was our PT leader. He worked the fuck out of us, but had my respect because he was humble.
Its all about attitude. I respect military. But I didn't ask you to go fight for me, so don't act like I owe you something and kiss the ground you walk on.
I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

Dude this thread is amazing. Seriously @the-warlock I don't like you, think your ego is ridiculously unwarranted if its genuine and not an act and truly think you are terrible at music. All this being true I gotta give you props on your ability to promote that shitty music through baiting people into trashing you. This shit literally makes me LOL keep it up.
