id certainly drop the ‘138 in progress’ bit in favor of pretty much any outside sample.  can get a similar sample from virtually any cop show.

the samples that come with flstudio are great big flashing neon signs that say ‘i made this with flstudio’.  frankly, i think they are all uninspired, on top of being too obvious.

other than that, not too bad.  most or all the voices could use a tweak or two;  again, to make em sound less flstudio-ish.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

yeah the 138 was sort of a place holder until i found something else or decided to use nothing.

i was trying to a gangster style beat, the guy im making it for does gangster rap out of NZ.

No. You must write it down 500 times and then do it….for quality assurance

That’s pretty dope from the first few seconds I heard of it before I quit listening… then I zoomed ahead right after typing that to see if the beat changes.

I liked it, all it really needs is some good EQ Mixing/Mastering.

Much much better than my first beats, then again I was only like 14 when I first started making beats.

I made the most beats when I was 16. I made a shit ton of beats. I made a whole beat album completely inspired by Freek Show. Like, the beats weren’t rip offs but they were similar in style, bridges etc. Trying to recreate beats is a good way to learn the craft. Not for selling but for fun or for practice.

Not bad Novo, the drums are good (little EQ and you’ll be fine).  The only thing I’d say is to tighten up that synth/sample. The octaves are all over the place. If you made that just a little smoother you’d be golden for a nice grimy track!  Open that file back up and play with that synth a lil more…. cool

thanks a lot scrubb. yeah ive played with it a bit since posting it up, and I think it sounds a bit better, but what od i know hahaha.

im not sure how to ‘tighten up the synths’ but im digging through youtube atm

i replaced the 138 cop sample with a sample of tupac talking abou devils and angels form the documentary they did about him.

My friend is super happy with it, but im still plugging away at it hahah
