So if you’re anything like me, you’re like “who the fuck is Lil Peep”? I asked myself that the other day when I read on one of the hip hop sites I frequent this cat died from a suspected overdose. I took a look at his picture and I saw just some other corny ass “21 and under rapper” from this day and age. Read he OD’d on xans, thought that sucks, and then moved on with my day.

I then started seeing articles on more and more notable websites along with quite a few bigger mainstream rapper giving him RIP shoutouts. A mixtape shot up in popularity on Dat Piff and the majority of the comments said shit like, “I expected this guy to be wack as hell, but was really surprised how much I like his music”. Having nothing to lose downloading a free mixtape, I gave dude a shot.

The mixtape is called Hellboy and I’ve been listening all day. I didn’t want to like it at first, but I’ll admit I really fuckin do. Peep’s style is super original. It’s like a slowed down hip-hop meets Nirvana.

I won’t front. The vast majority of yall ain’t gonna like this… at all. It’s pretty fuckin sad (emo) music. There’s something about it though. I can’t put a finger on it. Dude has a story to tell and I dig it. It’s definitely original and It’s definitely underground. It’s sad that someone like this only got 21years of life.
