I lived in Boston for ten years. My ex went to Berklee and I met a lot of different people throughout the years. One of the most recognizable street rappers I met was Black Swan. He’s been pushing the same CD-R for the last 13 years for $5 a pop but he definitely gets the tourists worked over like he’s the next big thing. He’s a nice guy, but much like the guy that walks around doing one handed pushups, he plays his music for you over his headphones (I’m not a religious man, but fuck only God knows how many nasty ass heads those headphones have been on before they get to you) and then follows you/harasses you until you drop that $5 to get his CD.
@the_positive_smack in this video he talks to some girls from your hometown (which I will be in this September for a black metal show @L’Astral.. poutine me up, mothafucka!

Well there’s this guy Doobie. He’s from Columbus but he’s pretty big in my town. He has an autotune trap sound that I don’t listen to a whole lot, but he does kick the wicked shit and I like that.
And you got Kid Cobra. I still talk to him every once and a while. We still plan on doing SOMETHING soon. He’s probably the only really good “rapper” in my town. He did a song with Krash Minati (he’s with Doobie and a lot of other people called the Minati Boys, big in Columbus).

There’s a bum in my city aptly dubbed “help is on the way”. When he’s approaching the marks he starts screaming “helllllp is on the way!!!” and then goes off the dome for change. Dude’s not spittin multis or anything but it’s always entertaining as fuck. Especially if he’s had a good night and is King Cobra drunk. The line he said that always stuck out was “My hands are freezing, fingers cold as ice. So I’m begging you please, gimme yo pizza slice!”
At ICP shows, the dude just kinda hangs and whatnot because he makes his quota within the first ten minutes of showing up to the line. There’s only two reoccurring bums around here that I actually give money to and he’s one of em.
