someone was just talking about this the other day.
on the one hand, the bootleggers are literally taking money out of his pocket. selling bootlegs outside the place an artist is performing is just wrong
on the other hand, he should have simply got their info and sued him for copyright and or trademark infringement. would have made out better

I just got back from his concert here in ABQ.. it was coo’.. he’s not much of a “performer” but he rapped his shit well and dropped some knowledge on the crowd in-between songs and kept em hype.. def an “MC” regardless of the clear room for more passion and animation.. was cool to see him do his classics tho, not really worth the $35 ticket imo (excluding openers).. left before talib cuz my legs were sore before i even got there..

For allegedly robbing them. Two sides to every story and we’ve yet to hear his.
If he just took the t shirts that had his shit on there, I wouldn’t consider that robbery. The real theof is the vendor. This reminds me of when people where hating on Psychopathic for sendin out cease and desist orders to people using their Tradmarked logos with out permission and using them for profit. It’s bull shit. If yoi put an apple logo on a phone and tried to sell it as an apple product no one wouwould be okay with thaT, but somehow it’s okay to do it to artists, right?

okay, but there is a massive difference between a c n d, and a strongarm robbery.
this smells like the latter. doesnt matter why he did it, they flat-out rolled the victim[s], allegedly takin not only the merch, but also all their money and their phones. and then sweated em about not reporting it, which they did a very poor job of, considering the short interval between coercion and arrest. all that got em was an extra charge thats gonna make it harder to mitigate.
awfully paranoid, arent you?

He’s been in the business so long you’d think he’d know how to handle this more professionally, but that’s easy for me to say. Tempers flare, and people do dumb shit, but at the same time, fuck bootleggers, he was asking for it.
This message was sent from my Atari 2600 through fiber optic cable made of fucks I no longer give.

if he had scooped up the shirts and walked, nobody would ever say shit.
takin the money is robbery even if it is fraudulently earned. but maybe the ‘vendor’ would stay quiet about that, to avoid a suit.
takin the phones was an absolute braindead move. no fuckin way that is goin unreported. stupid as dirt.
and the thing about sweatin em to keep quiet… theres only two ways to do that.
one is, ‘ima pay you’, which makes no sense in this case.
the other is, ‘ima fuck you up’. [there woulda been a third, ‘ima take you to court’, but that went out the window when the phones were stolen]
ill never believe he said ‘dont calls the cops!’ and didnt add an ‘or else!’.
in the end, this charge will be what buries him, unless he makes a plea deal. intimidation charges are not simply dismissed, they play out until there is a decision. and hes a rapper with an entourage tryin to get his cut from a couple scrubs. nothin heroic, here, the odds are well against him.

The thing is, this is from the BOOTLEGGER’s perspective. I mean these are the type of people willing to steal logos and sell them hoping they won’t get caught. I don’t think it’s that far of a jump. I mean unless there are broken phones with their finger prints on it how do they prove what actually happened anyway? It doesn’t seem like there was any security footage or other witnesses.
Also, the bond was $50,000, which is probably for the both of them. But don’t you only have to pay 10% of the bond, or something? I’ve never been arrested so I have no clue.
