I just wanted to take time out to say I appreciate all of u who have supported my music over these past few years. A Lot of u have told me stories about how I have changed your life. You too have changed mine in ways that u can never imagine. Unfortunately, tonight is the night that I am actually moving away to Australia. Over the past couple years I have come to conclusion that this profession just isn’t for me, so im going to venture out into new areas of life. I will always be an MC at heart, but this rap stuff just isn’t for me. I hope Youguys can respect it. I’ve signed over my half of the funk volume label to my business partner Dame. I also wished Swizzz, Dizzy Wright and Jarren Benton good luck in their careers. Thank u all! I’m out.
Sincerely,
Marcus Jamal Hopson aka “Hopsin”

Well in knock madness he said he was gonna quit and move to Australia, so I guess he followed through. Sucks cuz I like hop, but he will be back.they always come back. I can't figure out how being a relatively unknown underground rapper would be too much to handle.
I'll fuck you till you love me, Faggot!

It's a bit of a drastic step. I'd have least kept a share in funk volume. Easy money coming UN from any profits etc. Hee done three albums, maybe he finds writing to hard? A lot of pop acts have one hit wonders and then disappear. It's the rap equivalent. Although in the photos he has his guitar with him.... Kid crusher and hop the Oz rappers super group...

I hope not, feel sorry for the dude if it's all over a girl.
I don't get why he sold half the label, but it's his life and his decisions, sometimes you just need to get away from certain things whether it's a job, a place, or certain people, that all are detrimental to your happiness. Money and fame are not going to make you happy. There are plenty of examples out there, people are just to dumb to notice this. In fact, it seems as though fame destroys.
I wish he would have moved away with the idea that he might want to come back. Like, what if all he needed to do was clear his head or just get away and fix things or something? IDK, I'm not him.

BTW, @luckynumbrxiii I finally got around to listening to the two albums and you were right.
.5 The Grey Chapter is actually my favorite Slipknot album on first listen.
I really liked the Gang Rags Reborn album too.
Both I believe to be two of the best to come out this year, definite highlights.
Abaddon, Strangeulation, Garcia Brothers, We Love You, Ultraviolet a lot of good music this year.

Let me Dr. Manhattan this situation for the chronicles of record. Hopsin will return in most likely less than a year and max two years whenever his savings run out and he has to get a real job or when shit goes south with whatever or whomever predicated the move to Australia whichever comes first.
Then he will start dissing Funk Volume and say they fucked him over and they suck....then he will go back to being a whiny bitch...nuff said

Everyone saying he will be broke simply for selling his half of funk volume must have forgotten about royalties, ascap, merch sales, etc. dude will be fine. I respect what he's doing but it sucks. Despite everything he is a damn good rapper/producer and its a shame he retired before a 4th album. I don't even consider an artist an artist until they release a senior album

It's really sad to see him go. His music has really changed my life. My friend first showed me Sag my Pants, and I was hooked from the jump. But I don't think he's gone for good. I think he's probably gonna come back in a few years and begin again.
But I hate it when I keep on hearing "oh Hopsin's a little bitch, Hopsin's a hypocrite, Hopsin's an Eminem wanna-be, Hopsin's this, Hopsin's that." SHUT UP. He's been through some serious shit, you gotta respect that. Between all the stuff with religion, the beef with Jokerr, thirsty-ass golddiggers, and the negative side of fame, he tried to remedy himself. Looking back, it wasn't always good remedies...HE MADE A SONG WITH THAT PANSY LECRAE FOR FUCKS SAKE! So it was inevitable.
...And speaking of which, what has The Jokerr said about all this?

I agree with Jeff though, too many people bitch about how he's such a bitch. If you come with non stop period flow tears over him not liking the bad side of fame then reconsider who is the bitch. He did what he had to do, unless it really was all for that chick, to make a change to something that actually affected his life. You are whining and crying and critiquing something that you have no control over and it has little effect on your life.

This is the big down fall which nobody seems to want to recognize with fame. It's fifty eyes on you just waiting for you to make move so they can all tell you how big of a fuck up you are. It's like half the population believes celebrities are perfect, the other half expects them to be perfect, yet only a small, small amount realize that they are only human. Except for Will Smith. Will Smith is a god.

Dude, Lecrae can rap.
He actually has a hopsin sounding part in here.
If you're all killin it, then where the bodies at? Got all this money then where the Bugattis at?
That's sarcasm right? Lecrae wishes he could sound like Hop. On his best days he sounds like an autotuned fart, and on his off-days, Lil Wayne
