I’m offering free studio time for anyone in the Austin area, I am currently a student at The Recording Conservatory of Austin and need studio use for my lab time. I can work with anything from a solo artist up to a full band. All that I ask is that you either message me in advance at [email protected] or hit me up at facebook.com/reelsikkrecords. I’m currently booking artists for next month.

That’s the really good thing about it, there’s almost no reason to say no. You get your shit produced and other than me having to keep a copy for my portfolio, you own the song. I may have it to where at the end of all my sessions that I release a demo mixtape with your song on it but I make no profit and your music gets out to others.

I’m not sure what all is done prior to recording. It’s ran through my school so it’s a non-profit project for me.

im sayin id insist on a real clear understanding that my creator rights were fully reserved; that my works are mine, and i retain publishing and mechanical rights; that i own the master; and that in accordance, said master would not and could not be used for any purpose which was not specifically authorized by me.
doesnt have to be on paper, of course, but it would be a nice touch.

I feel ya, the only reason i said I didn’t know what all paperwork was involved was just because I haven’t started the projects yet. Was informed that by week 4, i would need about 4 artists already booked. I’ll provide more info as soon as it becomes available.

@reel-sikk Do you work with Pro Tools? Would sending sessions to you work or does the artist need to be psychically there in the studio to get the credit for your school? Just wondering…

Let me find out for ya, I know that we use pro tools but i’m not sure if all artists need to be physically there.

So here’s an update. Still looking to work with people in the Austin area. I’m looking to work with anyone from a solo artist up to a full size band (Please have your own instruments). All work done will completely belong to you, I’ll gladly let you copy all files if you like. I have written contracts stating that the finished product solely belongs to you, all I ask is that you let me have a copy of the finished product for my portfolio.
