I couldn't really get into DMT Sessions. 2 tracks were cool, but the rest I never really listened to them without wanting to turn it off right away. And it sucks cause that ain't Esham at his best. Everything prior to him signing with Psychopathic was fire. Unholy > Boogieman

Yeah, I wish everybody respected Esham more. And I wish people would realise you dont have to like someones music to respect them as an artist. Some ninjas get so mad for no reason, just because some of us like & respect Esham & Natas, they get all butt hurt & talk shit, just because we dont agree with them on thier opinion, & then call US closed minded because we still listen to them. Ive heard a lot of people that have ordered from his webstore that didnt get thier stuff they ordered, thats one reason I dont order anything of the web, Ive heard horror stories about almost every online underground label webstores, Ive even heard some say that they didnt get what the ordered from Hatchetgear. Yeah, I can understand & respect the fact that not everyone is an Esham fan, I understand & respect the fact that some ninjas are on ICP/Psychopathic side on that whole drama, & I understand & respect the fact that people feel fucked over by not getting what they ordered on his webstore so they boycott him for it. But he has inspired a lot, at least respect him for his contributions to the rap game & the juggalo culture. Even tho thier not getting along & Esham is dissing them, ICP still show respect to Esham for his contributions. Thiers a lot of artists in music I dont listen too, but respect, because I understand that they helped in the evoltion of music in some way shape or form. For example, Usher, I dont like that guys music at all, but he has been around sence I was in 6th grade, Im 26 now, & he is still around & relavent in the mainstream. Not a whole lot of artist have been able to keep the mainstream's attention like that, so I respect him as an artist, but when I hear his music, I roll my eyes because the radio always plays every song out, the radio make songs beyond old, it gets to the point that the music that the radio plays gets just stright up annoying. But its about respect. If you dont respect the ones who came before you, how do you expect to get respect from anyone?

Don't agree the music is what makes you respect an artist in the first place. If you feel as though an artist starts falling off and makes crap music your going to lose respect for their current work. I heard DMT and wasn't the slightest bit impressed keep an open mind folks people are allowed to lose respect for rappers and musicians. The Icp & Esham beef shouldn't affect the opinions of the fans. If Esham put out a record and sounded like a Justin Bieber record how many people would lose respect for him and how many people would say he originated the club pop style?

Concerning people getting upset over opinions i've seen warlock and iLL get the most upset.

eh i think thats kind of a stretch if a random artist starts putting out shit im not feelin or just goes mainstream & pulls a 180 id prolly lose respect for em but if its a legend that respect will still be there id just stop listening to their current music & stop showin support like icp for example its argueable bpb was more pop but i still respect their musical endeavors

cant really expect to see Esham do anything major anymore, in my mind, esham is a retired rapper, he doesnt tour, he doesnt push his shit. i think he just does records for the love of the music now.

he's prolly got some other way to make his cheddar in life cuz i cant see him making too much bank off his music anymore

Imo, DMT Sessions was meant to be listened to as one big song. They all blend into each other so you're not gonna get the full effect skipping tracks.

Im not tryin to hate, but I dont understand that logic. Your gonna have less respect for an artist cause you didnt like thier last cd? Lets pretend its not music, let pretend I work at a Subway, & you come in & order the special & I make it & you like it, then you keep coming in ordering whatevers on special that day & you like all of them, but then you come in & order the special & you dont like it, you cant even stomic to finish eating it, are you gonna lose respect for me because you didnt like one sandwich that I made you? Or lets say I work at a Blockbuster, you come in & ask me if I know of a good movie to rent, so I tell you about a movie so you rent it, watch it, & really like, then you come in & say "know of any other good movies" & I tell you about a few, you rent them & again like all of them. Then one day I tell you about a movie & you hate it, are you gonna lose respect for me because I like a movie you didnt? I personally think people take music way to seriously, its just a form of entertainment & like all entertainment, some of it you like & some of it you dont, but you sholudnt lose respect for an artsit just because you dont like thier last song or album, it just means they like a certain style of music & decided to incorparate that into thier sound & you just happent to not like that style, thats not the artists fault, it just means you have a difference in opinion, that shouldnt make you lose respect for them.

I read ALL of what everyone posts ... It's a message board, so if this is too much reading for you, I think you're missing the point on what a message board is. Having said that ... His post while long was worded well and easy to read, took me all of thirty seconds to read it. Lol.

RAM

No way man ... There is nothing wrong with losing respect for someone because you didn't like their last album. You can't use a food analogy because music is different. If I listen to a song over and over again ... That's not the same thing as eating at subway everyday. Because the song always stays the same ... But the sandwich changes every day. Different person making it .. Different box of sandwich meat ... Different bread, different person putting a different amount of mayo on it from a different bottle of mayo. But that cd ... Always stays the same. So yeah I'd stop eating there if something tasted bad when it's usually pretty good.

As far as the movie thing goes .. I wouldn't lose respect for you personally .. We'd still be cool .. But as far as your opinions on movies, I'd lose respect for your opinions on movies, and I'd be less likely to listen to you if you told me a movie was good.

How does that transfer to music .. If ICP's next album has one hip hop song on it .. And eleven country songs on there .. Then yeah .. I would be losing respect for them, and would be less likely to actually buy the next album they put out.

My two cents.

RAM and everyone who thinks this applies to them. Before you post a response to what somebody says, think for a long moment and figure out what that person is trying to say. I've seen people post about losing respect for artist like Tech N9ne and Icp. It's of their own right to do so. In the end the fans tell the artist your last record sucks don't continue on with that style or your last record was amazing adapt that into your future work.

Also work on your comparisons the sandwich thing was confusing.

Idk, I just dont get how y'all say just because you dont like someones new album, that you will lose respect for them. Thats on you, its not thier fault you dont like it. thier gonna put out whatever they wanna put out, for whoever likes it. If you dont like it, then dont, but how does that mean you lose respect for them? One of yall said if ICP put out a country album yall would lose respect for them, why? What about all the albums they made in the past that you liked, then they put out one album you dont like, so you lose respect, just because they like a certain style you don't? That dosnt make sence to me, not tryin to hate or anything, but it dont.

Somebody said to break my paragraphs up. I dont mean to be hateful, but I agree with MmmmBrainz, this is a messege board, the point is to read. I type out long paragraphs sometimes because I want to get my point accross & its hard to do in a sentence sometimes.

Im the one who said if ICP put out a cd of all country songs I would lose respect for them .. I don't mean personally. I don't even know them muthaphuckas .. i mean I met them at shows and signings a few times .. but I don't know them. So i got to judge their character is by their music. So yeah .. if they totally switched styles up and changed from the good stuff I know and love I would lose respect for them as artists .. and I would be less likely to buy the next album for sure.

in short .. I'd be like fuck you and Ed.

And i'd still sport my shoulder to shoulder tatttoo of the word Juggalo proudly. I don't see why that is hard for you to understand at all.

I liked Pantera when they were still together. I did not like anything from either the band or the singer after they broke up. Thems the breaks when you make major changes to the product you push on the masses.

Pretty cut and dry I think.

Ok, now that you elbroated on it, I guess I can respect that. Me personally, I would give it 2 or 3 albums, if an artist I like releases two or three albums in a row I dont like, then Im less likely to by the next album after that, so I get what your saying. But I still have respect for the srtists for everything they did that I liked in the past, even if I dont care for thier new stuff.

& I saw that Esham Bath Salt mini movie, that shit was pretty cool, I saw that he posted it last night, I was scanning thur it when I saw a black chick dancing naked, so I said to my slef "Self, this video is gonna be removed by tomarrow for violations of nudity & shit, so you should watch it now!" so I watched it & liked it. I liked that mask he was wearing. Fuckin Esham, calling bath salt users zombies lol. For those who didnt see it, it was an Esham music video/mini movie, kinda how ICP did "Bowling Balls", making it a mini movie around the music video. The music video parts were edited into random parts in the mini movie, just like Bowling Balls. Esham played the part of a bath salt dealer & all kinds of "zombies" as he called them (refering to bath zalt users) were running up on him in an abdon warehouse tryin to score free shit, some even tryin to jack him, but he would shoot anyone with no money with 2 big ass guns. He was wearing a mask that looked like a skull with a clown face kinda.
