But who? It’d be hard finding an opponent of similar stature. It’d have be somebody either big or revered.

It’s crazy, I grew up with Joe Budden.  Never knew him personally, but I watched him go from a piece of shit to a superstar.

I don’t give a fuck, I want to see multi-platinum, old-ass eminem battle rapping. I will probably never even hear a jumpoff joe beezy song. Plus, being a fan of battle rap, wouldn’t you want it to get more exposure? Having Eminem on it would bring tons of people who wouldn’t normally watch battle rap into the fold. Like me. Maybe I would get hooked.

Also, I hope you were trying to be funny with the actual hiphop fans thing. I can’t tell since you say “haha” on every post, and it’s super hard to tell sarcasm/jokes from writing.

eminem has done more than enough for the culture.. & him attempting to legitimize battle rap as an actual sport (on some ufc shit) with this event/league is way more than i could ever ask for from him.. i dont really care to see him battle again personally.. asides from the rap olympic footage nothing else is really worth watching.. as far as the actual hip hop fan thing.. personally i feel if something came along that could drastically change the coarse of juggalo shit, if youre an actual fan of juggalo shit you should give a fuck about it.. same thing here just replace juggalo shit with hip hop.. it should matter to those who care about the culture.. hence are actual fans who actually give a fuck about hip hop..

My vote on this would be Jay-Z as far as popular mainstream dudes go, but since Dizaster slaughtered Canibus, I’d say Eminem should be next in line.

I give a fuck about hip-hop, doesn’t mean I care about battle rap. Brother Ali is huge into hip hop culture, I’ve never heard him say anything about battle rap. Battle culture does not equal all of hip hop culture.

Also, have you heard of the “No True Scotsman Fallacy”? Because you’re using it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N…..e_Scotsman

Ali used to battle at scribble jam.. that was as IN the battle culture as you could get back then.. and of course it doesnt equal all of hip hop but its a vital part… based on the influence alone that it has on both mainstream & underground rappers.. plus this event is an attempt from eminem to make it even more prominent & vital..

& you dont have to care about battle rap in general but the 1st still currently relevant mainstream rapper to have a real and broadcasted battle is very significant to this culture.. in my eyes at least.. call it what you will..

I was wrong about Ali, I apologize, but the rest of my argument still stands.

People have subjective tastes, you can like hip-hop and not battle rap. It’s cool that battle rap is getting more exposure, even though I’m not super into it, but that doesn’t mean you HAVE to be a battle rap fan to like hip hop.

i never said you did.. i just think generally if youre really into hip hop.. you should kind of give a fuck that a battle of this magnitude is going down..

FTFY

I might check it out, but hip hop is a very BROAD term, which is the point I’m trying to get across. You’ve got to stop thinking of thing in such extremes and realize not everyone thinks the same way as you or likes the same things as you. I know you did explicitly SAY anything like that, but you are heavily implying it.

who can tell me…

why it is that the warlock comes here to discuss all this stuff, instead of allrealhiphopfanslovebattleraps dot com?

there is a reason.  an overtly obvious reason.

its because those ‘real hiphop fans’ would rip him into confetti the moment they heard any of his music.  thats why.

those who can, do.

those who cant, yack about it like they know somethin.  but they dont.  they just recycle what they read from others, hoping everyone will buy it.

heres the news:  we are real fans of hiphop ourselves, and we dont give a fuck.  battle raps aint shit, warlock, get over it.

and for the love of god, stop telling everybody else what they should think.

  awfully paranoid, arent you?

I agree with warlock that battle rap is a vital part of hip-hop and it’s artists. It used to be and still is a way to gain recognition and respect. Of course, I’m only stating the obvious, but cypher and battling have deep roots in the culture. Sure warlock doesn’t (to my knowledge) post graffiti and breakdancing videos which would be just as integral as anything else in hip-hop. I’m just saying battle rap is still relevant and getting bigger. I don’t know what I’m saying but I’m on warlock’s side for some reason but there is no “side” just our opinions.
