Interesting… in Philly, Young Wicked went on first before Dope DOD.  The crowd was way, way more live for YW, even though there were a lot more people in the venue, and a lot more drinks that had been consumed, by the time Dope DOD took the stage.  If they switched the order because of the crowd response to the early shows, that’s pretty harsh for poor Dope DOD.  

I don’t get that into listening to their albums but I thought their sets both on the tour and at the Gathering were dope (obviously literally but also figuratively).  At both shows though it seemed like there was a small number of people who were really into it, but they just didn’t win over most of the people there.  PSY’s obviously been trying to give them a push but it looks like a failure.  I don’t really get why, I’d be very interested to hear from anyone here who doesn’t like them.

Yeah but plenty of times you see an opener that most of the crowd doesn’t know or doesn’t care about at first, and by the end of the set people have shut the fuck up and are paying attention.  Some recent relevant examples I can think of are In This Moment at Gathering and MURS opening for Tech on the Special Effects tour.  Didn’t seem to happen for Dope DOD, though I would have thought it would have.
