Dice's verse (about raping a child) on Mastamind's Bitcheshate Ft. Esham & Dice

I’m curious about what you guys think about that verse. It’s the last verse on Bitcheshate (sometimes “Bitches Hate Me”) on from Mastamind’s Lickkuiddrano.

Dice’s part starts at 2:35, but it works best when you listen to the whole song.

I think that verse is a stroke of genius. In my opinion it’s one of the best horrorcore verses ever (though, I’m not sure whether Dice would be happy with that classification) because it’s truly horrifying. And it kind of challenges you as a fan of horrorcore (and rap in general), and I think sometimes that’s good. Like, murder, torture and rape is horrible as well, but we are not really shocked by people rapping about it anymore. Murder or torture is just as terrible as child abuse, though, even worse (it depends on the specific instances of course). It’s just that you can’t be a (obviously fictional) cool child molester but you can portray a cool murderer.

It’s also interesting when compared to esham’s and mastamind’s verses and the topic of the song overall. I mean the song is pure misogyny and we are cool with that. I’m still fine with it, because it’s art and they are merely telling stories, but sometimes it’s cool when someone comes along and forces you to put things in perspective. Dunno whether that was Dice’s intend but it certainly had that effect on me. Because it does seem kind of hypocritical to be outraged by that verse and at the same time celebrate other verses that contain subject matter that should be considered as at least equally horrible and morally wrong, and I think many people would be outraged by that verse (I’m not saying the verses or rapping about these topics is morally wrong, otherwise I couldn’t be a fan of horrorcore of course, but the depicted acts themself certainly are).

I also like how it catches you completely off-guard. Starts out with “I knew this bitch named Cortessa…” after just having heard Esham’s and Mastmind’s parts, you just assume his part is in the same vein as theirs, i.e. more of the same. “… she was 3 years old and I was 12, I used to child-molest her” and you go “what the fuck?!..” which is, I think, the response that most horrorcore artists try to achieve.

Bottom line, I think it’s a dope verse. What’s your take?

Wow I got you to open a whole new thread on this lol!

Okay I was liviNg in NC when I heard it. It was the only time I can rememeber being shocked and repulsed and angry by verses.

Maybe it helped me to realize that I don’t really dig horrorcore for shock value. Maybe I just like paranormal stories that mainstream artists are usually too scared to rap about, because of fear of career suicide. Or just thug tales, revenge fantasies, etc. I discovered that lyrics of that zone are not my thing. I wouldn’t even play it for friends.

I did, however, play King Gordy’s “Outro” track and it offended my brother quite a bit. Similar subject matter on that. Doesn’t mean I like the track, though. It just fascinated me with its vulgarity. Go figure.

the bubbleliscious line is the only thing about that verse that slightly resembles genius.. this thread is offensive, not cuz it glorifies a shock value verse but because this is from a mastamind song, whom fuckin destroyed Life After Death with much more applicable geniusness, haha.. i cant front the dice verse never stood out to me and i never fully listened to it til now.. cuz like you said it seemed like it was just in the same vein even tho i heard people talk about it.. such a mediocre song in the acid rap collection of classics.

I’ve never seen the movie A Serbian Film but according to Howard Stern it has a scene where a woman gives birth and the newborn baby is immediately raped. “An aging porn star agrees to participate in an “art film” in order to make a clean break from the business, only to discover that he has been drafted into making a pedophilia and necrophilia themed snuff film.”

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1273235/

Time 2 Czech out some Serbian horrorcore.

Yep. I’d like to bash his fucking head in. Esham and Mastamind should’ve left that shit out. They’re Nazis and Dice is Hitler.

Fuck Gordy too for his Outro. I feel guilty enough letting dude play it at my party years back.

Sorry, but involving babies in your music isn’t just awful, it’s lame. It means you are lacking something.

There’s a difference between J talking about thrown school children at people off a moving school bus (“Ninjas in Action” by Jumpsteady) and King Gordy saying “I’ll put my cock in little Sasha (“Outro”). Don’t even argue this with me, ya’ll. If you can’t see why these two are different, then you aren’t worth the argument.

Wile E. Coyote gets murdered and parents let their kids watch that.
Imagine if the Road Runner raped him…

Also, most “murder music” in the underground seems to be coming from an almost “cartoon” like perspective. Also, usually the wicked gets punished like bigots or pedophiles. If it’s not bad people getting murdered it comes across as a horror story to me, usually.

This song is talking about raping a 3 year old girl and gets specific.
To me, it’s totally different.

not that i care to participate in this…  ‘discussion’…

but yes, that is correct.

also, wile e coyote wasnt murdered, cuz he survived.

plenty of examples out there of popeye killin people, though.  he would blast em so hard that the force of their flying bodies self-interred them on impact, and set up the headstones.  thats some heavy murder.

I honestly don’t care about the song. I am curious as to WHY you think rape is worse than murder. Long term implications? Amount of damage done? I am also curious as to why it is considered “acceptable horrorcore” to most (not just OMD, I bet if we took a poll most people agree) to talk about mass murder of innocent or mostly innocent people, but for some reason rape or sexual assault is off limits. I’m not arguing that it SHOULDN’T be off limits, just thinking about the sociolinguistic angle and wonder if it’s the same everywhere. Which it obviously isn’t, since Gordy can sell.

In reality, murder is likely worse than rape.
In entertainment though… rape is just one of those topics you don’t touch.
This is all IMO.

I think of movies too.
PG13 action films have people getting shot or stabbed or blown up, etc…

I don’t know why.
It’s just how mine and most people’s brains work.

Alright, this is what I was talking about. That makes a bit of sense. Here’s a question though: is there a “cartoony” way to discuss sexual molestation? It’s been spoken about from the victims perspective (the monster) but it’s never explicitly mentioned, and it is somber. Or, wouldn’t it be interesting to hear a song from the point of view of someone struggling with their own pedophilia? Someone who knows it’s wrong but cannot help it. Seems like we could keep a lot of kiddos from being molested if we had non-judgemental programs in place for thone folks who want help. Maybe there already are, or maybe regretful pedophiles don’t exist, but I have a feeling they probably do.

why they let shootemups have a pg-13?

this isnt sumn thats wrong with juggalos.  theres not much hypocrisy here that isnt smeared thoroughly all over the entire rest of the world.

and even if there was, fuck it;  i aint playin devils advocate for a rapist.  the end.  hypocrisy?  cool.

i would argue that gordy cant sell, since he stopped bein thoughtful.  least, dont look to me like hes especially popular.

[snipe edit]

yeah, obviously some of this has been addressed.  shrug.
