its true, it is just my opinion
to my ears, alot of east coast stuff sounds te same. there are a few guys out there doing something different, but not many (in my opinon, of what i have seen).
i think generic was the wrong word to describe ra the rugged man, but it was the only thing i could think of to suitably describe him (again, in my opinion) at the time. i think generic is too shallow a description. lyrically he destroys just about every white east coast rapper ive ever heard, but his delivery comes across as monotone.

East coast rap is kind of generic. But still better then mainstream southern rap
I dont think i like much southern rap period, i dont mind rittz in small doses and yelawolfs older stuff (circa trunk musik 0-60) was pure murder, but now he has that twinky beat production and it sounds like he is rapping over a bieber track.
