Agreed. She’s an odd duck, in that music is only one of many benchmarks for which she’s been judged. The other major factors are the who/what/when/why/how of her sex life, and her looks. I hate the mechanisms of identity/social justice politics, but the Blahzay Roze story really does speak to the reality of sexism based on the fact that she’s been held to these standards that would have been non issues if she were a man. I hate saying that, but the more outspoken and ignorant among our tribe damn near proved it with how she was treated.

Also true. Nothing wrong with having a message, but there’s a danger in laying on your message too thick or too often. A lot of Juggalo voiced distaste in having a female artist having a victim gimmick, which I find to be a legitimate complaint. Rape is certainly a topic rife for the plumbing for its thematic potential in horrorcore, especially from a victim’s perspective, but in the end it should something that ultimately lifts up the survivors, the way ICP might have empowered kids from bigoted or abusive households. Or you could turn the idea on its head, taking the perception of power away from the abusers, the way Smallz One does with her “Rape the Rapists” songs. Otherwise there’s a risk of it becoming a crutch for the art, which is in bad taste.

You are, but just a little bit. I don’t hold it against. Just don’t make it a way of life or a soapbox to stand above, for a brow with which to beat, and you’ll do swimmingly. 

As for The Coroner’s Exam, my personal gripe is that its little more than a verse when she should have a full album, or at least an EP, or at the very least a fat load of collabs under her belt. There’s a ton of artists in the underground grinding away that would kill for her level of exposure, who could and would have had two projects in the can by now since her debut. I’m someone who has been in her corner, and even I’m starting to get impatient.
