Brooks is the original half of what is now a full fledged band called Rehab. Anyone that has read at least ten of my bullshit posts knows that I’m an official Rehab freak. I consider their music to be some of the best drinking songs ever made. The album “Cuzwecan” in particular contains some of the realest tracks of heartbroken, strung out despair that sounds dope I’ve ever heard. Its hard to balance rock/rap and make it sound great. Rage Against the Machine is a perfect example… but its damn near IMPOSSIBLE to mesh rap/rock and country into non-cheesy tubes. Rehab schools their southern style into a sound that becomes genreless, like all the best music. They maybe had some missteps the past few albums, mostly due to label pressures to reproduce their overplayed-but-never-gets-played-out classic “Sittin at a Bar”. (FUCK “the bartender song” and all its million reproductions!)
Anyhow, most every Rehab fan misses the one integral ingredient to the classic music they use to make in their prime: Mr Brooks Buford. I’ve seen him once a blue moon on twitter, saw that he released some spare tracks after his couple solo album attempts, but have no idea what happened to the guy. Anyone have any clue? Does he still dabble in the music game? Or is he a salmon gutter? A physician? A conquistador? Dead? Help me out fucks

Man I’m a huge rehab fan too. I couldn’t tell you what happened to that dude. I was always more of a Danny Boone mark myself

Yes Danny is a force as well. His singing and rapping. But don’t ya just wanna hear them do a track or lil ep again together? No band, just a beat like “Southern Discomfort” and previous?
I’d suppose you could say Boone is the soul and Brooks is the heart. I’d always thought “Amends” was them apologizing for being flawed dicks to each other. But I heard its just a lyrical 12 steps apology to everyone they’ve hurt. I still believe my initial feelings though. It keeps the song important to me because it has n iirreplaceable spot in the story of my life.

Maybe I’m crazy but I could swear they were all together at gotj last year. I’d be on board for a reunion cd

I was just wondering what happened to him the other night, I was thinkin about how great it was when Brooks was with Rehab, The first concert I ever went to was KMK w/ Corporate Avenger, Linkin Park and Rehab, I instantly became a fan of Rehab right then. But some of their fans are fuckin douche bags, I got into an argument with some Keyboard warrior rehab fans on fb during the gathering, All because Rehab said they were gathering bound their fans felt like they had to sound off and spew some hatred for juggalos. Im still a fan nonetheless but the majority of rehab fans are bitches. Not to say anyone on here is.
Back to the topic at hand I do hope brooks comes back at least for a few guest appearances or collabs.

That sucks. Other than online, I’ve never met any Rehab fans face to face. I lived down south for three years and thought they’d dig it, but I played Rehab for peeps there and they looked dumbfounded. My girl from up here in NY moved to SC a decade ago and does some music shit at this club and deals with the artists. She said that they personally were assholes to her. But that’s her experience.

Linkin Park was cool back then I talked to them at the KMK show pretty much during the set changes, They hooked me and my homies up with cassette tapes, They signed em for us gave us bumper stickers and signed those for us too, and 4 mos later I saw them again in concert, My sister bought me tickets to the show for my birthday that year. During the KMK show I got pulled on stage by Taxman from Corporate Avenger during KMKs set, That was fresh. But that was back when linkin park was actually good.
